Ithaki is an Ionian island off the northeast coast of Kefalonia. The island is famous for being Homer’s Ithaca, which is the home of Odysseus in the story of Odyssey. It is also home to some great breakfast and brunch spots where you can fuel up before exploring the island. Here are some of our favorites.

To Steki is the Greek word for haunt – it’s a good name for this popular local snack bar in the city of Ithaki. Located right in the square of Vathy, you will enjoy a fresh atmosphere, as well as nice coffee, ice creams, snacks, sweet and salty crepes with a view of the local port.

Restaurant Poseidon

In the fish tavern Poseidon you will find lots of fresh local fish at really reasonable prices. Grandmother Titia cooks traditional and local Greek dishes, specializing in seafood, traditional pies with homemade handmade sheet, many ouzo meze dishes and grilled meat on the grill. If you visit it during the earlier hours for breakfast, you will be able to enjoy lighter dishes from their local and Mediterranean menu.

Lo Spuntino

An amazing place for delicious brunch and breakfast in the city of Ithaki. It serves great pancakes, ice cream, sweets, as well as iced coffee and fresh juices for young visitors. The staff is lovely and attentive, the view stunning, and the prices quite reasonable.

Ithaki Mare
