Santorini is an island of wonders, and even though you may plan on spending some time in a bikini or swimsuit, you should not miss the opportunity to try one (or all) of the following places to satisfy your sweet tooth. Here is where you can find the best desserts and sweets on this beautiful island.

1. Melenio Bakery

Cafe, Contemporary, Dessert

Even before entering the bakery, the smell of fresh baked goods will hit you. Known for its baklava, Melenio serves delicious traditional sweets such as walnut cake, galaktoboureko, ekmek kataifi and more. But if tradition is not your thing, you’ll be happy to know that Melenio also has European desserts such as tiramisu, chocolate soufflé, lemon pie or mille-feuille, which you can savour with a good cup of joe while enjoying breathtaking views over the sea.

2. Lolita’s Gelato

Ice Cream Parlour, Contemporary, Ice Cream

Lolita’s Gelato is one of the best spots on the whole island for ice cream – some may even say it’s the best. It has a plethora of flavours, and once you have decided which one you want, relish every bite while sitting in the outdoor seating area – a perfect spot for a quick refreshing break from discovering the island’s many treasures.

3. LukuMum Santorini

Cafe, Dessert

A small place with a few tables outside, LukuMum Santorini is the place to have delicious loukoumades, Greek doughnut balls. Try them stuffed with Nutella® or covered in white chocolate, or simply served the traditional way, with honey and sesame seeds. And for those who would rather have something other than fried sweets, LukuMum also has savoury (and sweet) crêpes and many other things. It’s a great spot for a saccharine breakfast or to satisfy late-night sweet cravings.

4. Galini Café

Bistro, Cafe, Contemporary

Galini Café is an all-day spot where you can have your morning coffee, a delicious lunch, an afternoon snack and light dinner options, as well as sweets at all time, including traditional sweet preserves, Greek yoghurt, walnut cake, ice cream or baklava. The dessert menu also includes a daily surprise, so what are you waiting for?

5. Cremeria Vienna Santorini

Ice Cream Parlour, Contemporary, Ice Cream

Located on the other side of the island on Perissa Beach, Cremeria Vienna serves homemade ice cream, of which the fruit flavours are particularly delicious, and desserts such as pancakes, crepes or waffles. Make sure you’re not in a rush, though, and go and sit in the beautiful backyard to enjoy your treat.
