Known as the prime seafood restaurant in Athens, Varoulko has been attracting gastronomes for years now. Chef Lefteris Lazarou offers a fixed-price menu for lunch and dinner, and the restaurant’s convenient location is fantastic – overlooking Mikrolimano Bay with its quaint fishing boats and yachts.

Hytra

With the motto ‘Bringing New Ideas To The Table,’ it is no surprise that Hytra is a force to be reckoned with on Athens’ food scene. Located on the 6th floor of the Onassis Culture Center, the restaurant features slick, modern décor and fine cuisine, and once the weather warms up, it moves to the 7th floor, offering an incredible view across Sygrou Avenue to the Acropolis, Lycabettus Hill, and the city skyline. Creating innovative Greek dishes, the restaurant has two menus: one with sophisticated dishes and one with simpler tastes, with both sharing local raw products and recipes.

Spondi

Created in 1996, Spondi is located near the marble Panathenaic Stadium. Voted as the ‘Best Restaurant in Greece’ for 12 consecutive years, it was awarded its first Michelin star in 2002, thanks to Chef Arnaud Bignon. The second star followed in 2008. Now under Chef Aggelos Landos, the restaurant is still thriving and offers refined Mediterranean cuisine crafted with French cooking techniques and local, fresh ingredients. Paired with a simple elegance and sophistication, Spondi offers an excellent gastronomic experience in the heart of Athens.
