Based at the Babylon cinema in Berlin’s Mitte, Cinebrasil presents a selection of current films from Brazil. The festival explores contemporary ideas and current narrative techniques with the aim to challenge stereotypes about Brazil by showing the nation’s diversity and cultural richness. Cinebrasil focuses on German-Brazilian films as well as dealing with some of the country’s most exiciting low-budget productions. The festival includes documentaries as well as features films. Painting across a broad canvas to depict the diverse Brazilian regions and their varied ways of life, Cinebrasil takes the audience on a cinematic journey to places as colorful and vibrant Brazil itself.
