The sights are absolutely amazing; you can look back from the bridge and see just how far you have walked and climbed. Also, you can soak up the history of the city from this tower, and all for an amazingly reasonable price. Come here to explore, but also to sight see from a distance and enjoy the views.

Jardins de l'abbaye Saint-Andre

Away from the bustle of Avignon you can visit this incredibly beautiful garden with fantastic views across to the town center. There you can also sit on benches and purchase cold drinks to sip on in the gardens. The gardens are extremely peaceful so you can sit back and relax in this enchanting landscape.

Fort Saint-Andre

From this remarkably preserved fortress you can soak up the history of Villenueve les Avignon. You can also take in the incredibly amazing views across the countryside and Avignon from the top of this remarkable fort. The entrance fee is €5.50, so for a reasonable price you can view the city and take in the historical atmosphere from up high. Self-guided tours are approximately 45 minutes, with the sheet guides available in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. The longer and more involved guided tours are only available in French; however, if the self-guided tour leaves you hungry for more, you can attend a three-hour lecture tour, though prior booking for this is essential.

This equestrian center provides an interesting and magnificent way to see the Provençal countryside. Climb on horseback as you ride through caves, mountainous areas and thick bushes. Once you reach the top, enjoy the special 50-mile view of Provence.
