People come to Provence to shop for local items like olive oil, lavender, Provençal fabrics and soap. Here’s our guide on where you can find the best souvenirs in Nice, so you can take some of those magical memories home with you.

Marché Aux Fleurs

Market

The flower market is an institution in Nice. It’s been here since the late 19th century and sells flowers as well as fresh fruit, vegetables, cured meats and other delicious local things to eat. It’s a great place to go shopping during your stay but you can also find some lovely lavender products and divine homemade olive oils to take home.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 8am to 1pm. Closed Mondays (for the antique market). https://instagram.com/p/BThdzLpj_c6/

Rose de France

If you’re looking to take home some French perfume, head to the Rose de France. It has many of the biggest names in perfume but at reduced prices.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm.

JP Paci

The south of France is well known for its chocolate shops; making chocolate here is an art and they take it very seriously. Nice has lots of lovely places to buy chocolates but JP Paci is one of the most avant-garde. He creates everything out of chocolate, from high heels to sex toys.

Moulin à l'Huile Nicolas Alziari

Just a little out of town, is the last remaining olive oil mill in Nice. You can discover how olive oil is made, have a free guided tour and tasting, and choose which yummy bottles to leave with. You will probably need a car to get there.

Wonderland Tissus

If you’re looking to leave Nice with lots of great fabric, either as presents (tablecloths, etc.) or to sew something, this is the place to go. It has all the Provençal fabrics. Check out Facebook for up-to-date details.

Marché Artisanal Nocturne

Market

From mid-May to mid-September there is a night market on the Cours Saleya, which is the perfect place to find local, hand-made crafts.

Opening hours: Daily, 6pm to 12.30am. Closed Mondays.

Regalino

Shop

If you’re after some souvenirs that are a little more usual, like t-shirts, bags, etc. then head here, to this little shop in the Vieux Port (old port).

Opening hours: Daily, 10am to 7pm.

La Brasserie Artisanale de Nice

Wine Seller, Brasserie, Wine Bar, Greek, Wine, Beer, Cocktails

This place makes and sells local beers, which could be the perfect gift, and a little bit different. It’s further out of town but worth a trip if you love beer made with love.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, 5pm to 7pm. Saturday, 10am to 12pm, 4pm to 7pm. Closed Sundays and Mondays.

Le Chatelard 1802

Shop

The same family has been growing lavender since 1802 and they sell it in this little shop in the Old Port of Nice. You’ll find everything made out of lavender here – soaps and other smellies, as well as perfumes and lavender bags.

Ombrelles Bestagno (umbrellas and walking sticks)

Founded in 1850, this business has been selling beautifully carved umbrellas and walking sticks for generations. It’s an opportunity to return with something a little different.
