Located in an old historic building at Nyhavn harbor, Nyhavns Faergekro is a cozy restaurant with a maritime décor. Miniature ships are hanging from the ceiling and the walls are decorated with maritime paintings. The restaurant is known for its extensive herring buffet, offering more than 10 homemade herring dishes. Try crown herring, sol over gudhjem or drømmesild herring, served with potatoes and rye bread. Located next to the Copenhagen’s old harbor, Restaurant Havfruen is a traditional seafood restaurant with a French flair. Havfruen means mermaid, which is the restaurant’s symbol and you can see a golden mermaid statue above the entrance. The interior is done in blue tones, with dark wooden tables and chairs, covered in blue tablecloths. The pictures on the wall show the sketches of the old Nyhavn harbor. The restaurant is known for its oysters, served with wine vinegar, lemon and toast. You can also order other seafood specialities, and enjoy great French wine.
