In the southern part of Brussels, there is a thoroughfare named after the King Leopold II’s eldest daughter, which crosses one of the most expensive and elegant quarters in the capital. We are talking about Avenue Louise, where the city meets the Ixelles and Saint-Gille communes. Besides hosting a number of embassies and ambassadors’ residences, prestigious law firms and expensive boutique hotels, this area also offers a wide range of possibilities for those looking for a good bar to meet friends (or a romantic tête-à-tête).

Gazzetta – Caffé & Deli

Cafe, Deli, Restaurant, Italian

If you’re looking for a proper Italian place to savor antipasti and drinks, Gazzetta is highly recommended. Situated nearby the Place Stephanie, Gazzetta offers a great selection of food (look out for the homemade pasta) and drinks within a welcoming environment.

In such a polished area, one should visit this elegant hotel bar. Located in the sumptuous Steigenberger Wiltcher Hotel, Loui Bar serves as a great environment for both a romantic evening or an elegant night out. Appreciate a fine spirit, an attentively crafted cocktail or a wide selection of teas and coffees, all of which earned Loui Bar Europe’s Best Hotel Bar by Prix Villégiature.

Michael Collins

Bar, Pub, Belgian, Pub Grub, Wine, Beer, Cocktails

This friendly and spacious Irish bar features a wide selection of beers and spirits (and of course, Guinness), a tasty menu of both appetizers and meals and an enchanting terrace to drink and dine during spring and summertime.

Callens Café

Just behind the lovely Parc de l’Abbaye de la Cambre in Ixelles lies one of the trendier bars in the area. Callens Café, with its first-choice booze and astonishing décor, is highly recommended.
