These Are The Cheapest Times to Book Hotel Rooms for Your Summer Break

Finding a cheap plane ticket is easy nowadays, but securing a cheap hotel room to make your whole vacation worthwhile (and economical) is way harder.

For those planning their summer escapes now, we have some great news for you. Travel site TripAdvisor have just released their “Best Time to Book” report, highlighting the best time to book your hotel pad across nine regions and 30 of the most popular travel destinations around the world.
The travel whizzes at the TripAdvisor HQ analysed all the hotel pricing data from April 2015 to March 2017 (WOOF!) and discovered all the best booking times and the average nightly rate you can expect to fork out in each location.
As you can imagine, these times vary from place-to-place, and country-to-country, but the results below will make your lives (and your vacation) just that little bit easier. Let the booking commence:

For pads in the US

Book within three months of your trip to save nine percent compared to peak periods. Average cost per night in the summer: $164 (£131).

For pads in Africa

Book within four months of your trip to save eight percent compared to peak periods. Average cost per night in the summer: $176 (£141).

African Sahara

For pads in Asia

Book within three months of your trip to save 14 percent compared to peak periods. Average cost per night in the summer: $146 (£117).

For pads in the Caribbean

Book four months in advance to save six percent compared to peak periods. Average cost per night in the summer: $184 (£147).

For pads in South America

Book three months in advance to save 15 percent compared to peak periods. Average cost per night in the summer: $115 (£92).

Cartagena, Colombia

For pads in Central America

Book within three months of your trip to save six percent compared to peak periods. Average cost per night in the summer: $101 (£81).

For pads in Europe

Book between five to nine months before your trip for best savings, though hotel prices remain fairly consistent within 10 months of a trip. Average cost per night in the summer: $135 (£108).

For pads in the Middle East

Book within two months of your trip to save 19 percent compared to peak periods. Average cost per night in the summer: $178 (£143).

For pads in the South Pacific

Book within two months of your trip to save 11 percent compared to peak periods. Average cost per night in the summer: $150 (£120).
