Montego Bay, lovingly called MoBay by locals, is one of the best places to enjoy Jamaica’s nightlife. MoBay is all about having a good time, sip cocktails as the sun goes down by the seashore and then dance the night away to the sounds of reggae. Whatever your party style may be, you’re sure to find evening entertainment to fit your fancy. Here’s where you’ll find the best nightlife in Montego Bay.

1. Hip Strip

If bar hopping is your modus operandi, hit up the thriving nightlife scene on Gloucester Avenue, better known as the Hip Strip. This area is a hodgepodge of venues. You’ll find bars blasting reggae hits, nightclubs with the latest hits, live jazz performances and laid-back bars. This is the most exciting area to go out in at night in Montego Bay, and the party often overflows into the street.

2. Coral Cliff

If you’re feeling lucky, try your chances at the games at Coral Cliff. Jamaica’s premier gaming venue is world-class – the lounge has all the casino classics, including slots and table games – but beyond the gaming, there’s plenty of entertainment at Coral Cliff. Live musical performances grace the stage or you can get in touch with your inner-child at the family-friendly arcade, Zeppelin’s Fun Factory.

3. Margaritaville Montego Bay

There’s no denying that Margaritaville outposts are a bit on the touristy side, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t a great place to enjoy a party in Jamaica. The Montego Bay location is right on the beach, meaning you can toast to the sunset with gigantic margaritas and tiki cocktails then party the night away at the seaside nightclub as you groove to dancehall beats.

4. Pier 1

Music Venue

Pier 1 is one of the most prestigious destinations for nightlife in Montego Bay, with live entertainment every night of the week. Dance to live music and sip on a Jamaican rum cocktails right on the waterfront. Dancehall DJs take over the sound on Wednesday and Friday nights, and the party usually gets lively after 10pm. If you’re keen to sing your heart out, karaoke night is on Monday.

5. Rose Hall

If you like things to get a little bit spooky after the sun goes down, book a spot on the Haunted House night tour at Rose Hall. This isn’t a kitschy Halloween haunted house – it’s the location of a true-crime horror story. The 18th-century house is haunted by the white witch, Annee Palmer, who is believed to have killed many slaves and three of her husbands. You’ll learn the dark history of Rose Hall on the candlelit tour.

6. Treasure Hunt MoBay

The Caribbean has many mysteries, complete with tales of pirates roaming the high seas of the region – so why not try your luck as a pirate at Treasure Hunt MoBay? Located right on the coast, the pirate-themed casino offers blackjack, roulette, slots and lots more, and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Strong drinks and great music create a party atmosphere you won’t soon forget.
