As Danang has evolved into one of the more livable Vietnamese cities, the food scene has improved dramatically. Today, modern blends on traditional dishes are sold next door to international cuisines. From cheap to fine dining, these are our best picks for a bite out in one of Vietnam’s most interesting coastal hubs.

Olivia's Prime Grill & Bar

Restaurant, Steakhouse, Beer

Olivia’s serves up some of the best steak in Danang. Prices are on the high side, but the marbled rib-eye or Japanese Wagyu are mouthwatering. The wait staff is attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance is warm and cozy. The second floor deck provides great views of the Han River and Dragon Bridge. A chocolate vodka shot to finish things off is the cherry on top.

Mi Quang Ba Mua

Restaurant, Vietnamese

Mi Quang is one of our absolute favorite Vietnamese dishes, and hardly anyone does it better than Mi Quang Ba Mua. For just over $1, this increasingly popular joint serves up a fantastic bowl of yellow egg noodles, shrimp, beef, and the famously complex Mi Quang broth. If you’re not in the mood for soup, try the Banh Xeo.

Bread of Life

Restaurant, American, European, Pub Grub

One of Danang’s most popular joints, Bread of Life serves up fantastic western food at an affordable price. Try the pizza; it’s some of the best in town. The staff creates a friendly environment and there’s always some relaxing music being played. The only drawback of eating here is the distance from the center of town.

Skewer Banjiro Restaurant

Restaurant, Japanese, Sushi, Asian

Banjiro serves up the best Japanese food in town. The fish is freshly caught, and the sushi and sashimi are excellent. A friendly sushi bar faces the chef, and the staff is warm and welcoming. Banjiro also has some nice private rooms upstairs that make a great place for a party or get-together.

Banh Xeo Ba Duong

Restaurant, Vietnamese

A hole in the wall, down an easy to miss alley, Banh Xeo Ba Duong is the most fun stop on our list. This fantastic Vietnamese dish is a mix of shrimp, pork, onions, turmeric, and bean sprouts, wrapped in a savory fried pancake. In Danang, this restaurant’s version is the best one around. Take a seat and relax; there’s no need to even try speaking Vietnamese, as a Bahn Xeo will be brought to your seat without you even ordering.
