With so much to do in Krabi province, from enjoying the gorgeous beaches to going on a trek up a mountain, it’s essential that you start your day in the right manner. For many people, that means only one thing – coffee! Fortunately, Krabi is blessed with some fantastic coffee shops that are not only a great place to start your day, but a great place to end it too.

May and Mark's House

Cafe, Restaurant, Thai, European, Fusion

Located in the centre of bustling Krabi Town, May and Mark’s House is a traveller’s institution. They serve the typical range of espresso drinks, crafted by well-trained baristas and have recently started roasting their own coffee beans, which are available alongside others as a pour-over brewed coffee. With a large food menu – partly inspired by passing travellers who showed them how to cook international dishes – and always with an array of homemade deserts, it’s a must-visit cafe in Krabi Town whether you’re a coffee fan or not.

The sign outside boasts of how coffee is a both a science and an art, and whilst they’ve learned the science it’s time for the customer to enjoy the art – and that’s exactly what you’ll do. Easy Cafe has some of the best espresso-based coffees available in Krabi, with the flat white a particular treat. Not only that, but there’s an extensive food menu and range of sweet treats to dine on whilst you’re enjoying your coffee. Located near to the port that sees travellers leave for Koh Lanta, Easy Cafe’s coffee is the last thing they taste before leaving and the first thing they come back to upon return.

Sprucy Cafe

Cafe, Dessert

Nestled across the road from Krabi’s scenic river, Sprucy has a modern interior of exposed brick, comfy leather couches and rustic wooden furnishings that help to create a cosy atmosphere. With a wide selections of hot and cold coffees – including specialist drip coffee – as well as refreshing smoothies and decadent cakes, it’s popular with the locals and it’s not hard to see why.

Cafe 8.98

Cafe, Restaurant, Thai, European, North American

Extremely hip and trendy inside and located just a short walk from Ao Nang beach, Cafe 8.98 is the definitive brunch destination in Ao Nang. Frequented by expats, digital nomads, travellers and Thais alike, its coffee is made by expert baristas and the quality shines through in the drink. With a wide range of food options, alcohol available and with live music often playing in the evening, it’s a popular joint for a reason and the best place to both start your day and spend your evening in Krabi’s beachfront paradise.

The Coffee Club

Cafe, Restaurant, Thai, Dessert, European, North American

A new addition to Ao Nang’s seafront parade, The Coffee Club is a new franchise from the popular Australian chain and has already made an impression in Krabi. Few things are better than that first sip of coffee in the morning, yet The Coffee Club steps things up a notch by offering the chance to do so with a view of Ao Nang’s turquoise-coloured sea. With trendy decor and friendly staff, as well as great coffee, delicious milkshakes and food, it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area, and it’s hard to believe you’ll find a better view with your morning cuppa than you’ll have here.

Hub Cafe

Cafe, Restaurant, Thai, European

Located between Krabi Town and Ao Nang, few coffee shops can rival Hub for a location. Located at the feet of several mountains and surrounded by dense rainforest, Hub’s location and atmosphere makes it the perfect place to enjoy a decent cup of coffee. A popular destination for both travellers and Thais, their breathtaking views are free to enjoy whilst drinking a coffee or enjoying one of their delicious meals – the perfect pit stop on your way to or from the beach.

The Mango Garden

Cafe, Dessert

Unmissable thanks to its illuminated, inviting shop front, The Mango Garden is perhaps the best choice for coffee and other treats in Koh Phi Phi. As one might guess from the name, mangos are prominent in most of its menu – including a delicious iced coffee with mango that’s more than worth a try. The regular coffee choices are also available, and are made to a higher quality than most on the island, making it a great place to start your adventures in this beautiful corner of the world. With a huge range of smoothies available, as well as mango sticky rice, waffles and more, there’s something for everyone here.
