Daemyeong-dong Art Market

Market, Art Gallery

Held on Saturdays (except the last week of the month, when it takes place on Wednesdays), the Daemyeong-dong Market brings together locals and visitors of all ages. Browse stalls selling art and handmade items along the street that runs from the main gate of Keimyung University to the nearby theater area. The atmosphere becomes even more festive when singers and dancers take to the stage in the early evenings.

Social Market

Market, Korean

The Social Market is yet another space for local artisans to run their unique pop-up shops that boast everything from wearable accessories to beautifully crafted home goods. Browse handmade candles, clothing and whimsical potted plants, or have your portrait drawn by a caricature artist.

Daegu Art Factory

Market

Originally operated as a tobacco manufacturing plant until the 1990s, the building that houses the present-day Daegu Art Factory (DAF) was repurposed as a resource centre for Daegu’s artist community in 2007.

In addition to hosting a variety of art exhibitions, cultural activities and performances, the DAF also holds a flea market on the last Saturday of the month. Made up of over 30 vendors, the market features handmade items of all sorts for very reasonable prices. Floral arrangements, paper crafts and jewelry are all available and you can grab a snack at the café on the main floor.
