Seomyeon is considered the central commercial hub of Busan. It’s an ideal place for shopping, food and entertainment, much like how Gangnam is in Seoul. Here, we take a look at the top things to do and see in this lively area.

Seomyeon Underground Shopping Center

Busan’s best shopping deals are to be found in underground shopping centers around the city. The Seomyeon underground market is one of the largest in all of Busan. It carries a variety of internationally renowned stores and local clothing brands, all selling the best in fashion and beauty products. The mall is underneath the Lotte Department Store and the Seomyeon road junction, and rarely fails to enthrall.

Visit the Fish Market

Bujeong Market is a must-visit location for all tourists coming to Busan for the first time. Busan is a port city with six different beaches, so it is hardly surprising that it’s known for its delicious variety of seafood. In Bujeong market, there are rows upon rows of stalls trying to sell the fresh catch of the day. Don’t forget to haggle and be prepared to encounter some fresh and enticing seafood options.

Go clubbing, Busan style

Every city in every country has it’s own nightlife and clubbing style. Korea’s nightlife can be compared to that of Vegas, with huge venues, stage sets, international DJs and random celebrity appearances being completely normal for a Friday at the club. Seomyeon holds one of Busan’s most hit clubs, called Club Fix. A lot of foreigners find their way here because of its amazing reputation as one of the hottest clubs in all of South Korea. Expect electro, dub and a crowd of lively partygoers.

Pojangmacha

Eat in a Pojangmacha

If you have watched any Korean television dramas or movies, then you have probably seen a pojangmacha. If not, a pojangmacha is a very tiny restaurant in a tent that serves street food or other interesting delicacies. You’ll see these places become full very late at night with a lot of partygoers choosing to frequent them after their wild night out.
