The lure of waves and surfing brings most visitors to Siargao, but the accommodation scene may be what encourages many to stay a while longer. The rooms on the Filipino island run the gamut from budget to luxury, with an emphasis on rustic-chic glamping – think sexy, spacious tents with proper beds and access to photogenic outdoor showers. Sound good? The best hotels in Siargao Island are bookable on Culture Trip.

Did you know – Culture Trip now does bookable, small-group trips? Pick from authentic, immersive Epic Trips, compact and action-packed Mini Trips and sparkling, expansive Sailing Trips.

La Luna Island Resort

One of the most cosy mid-range hotels in Siargao Island, La Luna offers eight rooms in traditionally inspired buildings. The rooms are spacious and contemporary, if somewhat plain, some with lots of natural light and a hammock. A bonus is the easy access to some of the best surfing spots on Siargao and General Luna, the urban centre of the island.

Soultribe Beach Resort

Soultribe offers beachside cabanas and a glampsite in the jungle. Rooms at this resort hotel in Siargao Island are rustically handsome, blending woods and white linen, while the tents, elevated on wooden decks and equipped with proper beds and with access to open-air showers, don’t feel like a compromise. Yoga sessions and massage services are on offer, plus activities including horseback riding and kitesurfing.

Mad Monkey Hostel

At the youthful, party end of the budget spectrum is Mad Monkey Hostel. The six-bed dorms are comfortable and contemporary, but you’ll probably be spending more of your time in and around the pool or at the tiki bar or taking advantage of activities such as karaoke nights, a Filipino family dinner or a party on a shipwreck. It’s all conveniently located, just a brief walk from one of the premier surfing beaches on Siargao.

Little Nap Siargao

Centred around a structure that intertwines both a modern architectural vibe and a traditional thatched roof is Little Nap. Rooms aren’t huge, but they are comfortable, and they’re conveniently attached to a surf shop, a souvenir shop and a vegan ice cream parlour. It sits within walking distance of the town and some of the best surf spots on the island.

Reef Beach Resort

On the beach, near the celebrated surf barrels of Cloud 9 (leave it to the pros), Reef Beach Resort is a hub for active adventures, with mountain biking, kayaking, fishing and island hopping on offer. There are simple-yet-comfortable rooms and suites. But, it’s the magnificent beach views – enjoyed from the gym, large rooftop deck and restaurant – that will stick long in your memory.

Isla Cabana Resort

Find comfort in this calm paradise by the sea, where you can stay in a stylish villa modelled on a traditional nipa hut. There’s plenty to keep you entertained, too: hang by the infinity pool, chill at the beach bar, or borrow a kayak to explore the waters. The beachside restaurant offers both Asian and Western dishes, best washed down with a freshly mixed cocktail.

Patrick’s on the Beach

Patrick’s on the Beach is the ideal spot to try a range of island activities, from diving and snorkelling to hiking and bird watching. One of the more established resorts on Siargao, Patrick’s is also a go-to place for surfers seeking a less crowded environment; there’s a nice break just by the hotel. Apart from enjoying Patrick’s spacious and clean cottages, you can also treat yourself to delicious local or international cuisine.

Bravo Beach Resort

Combining traditional Filipino construction and contemporary architecture, Bravo Beach isn’t your typical resort. It overlooks the Pesangan Reef and the Pacific Ocean, the views compelling you to paddle out to the waves or relax on the white-sand beach. Should you want a more surf-immersive break, the resort offers holiday packages that include all the kit you need and private instructors. Cap your hang-ten day at the in-house restaurant, dining on delectable Spanish dishes with ocean views.

Romantic Beach Villas

True to the name, Romantic Beach Villas is ideal for loved-up couples and honeymooners. There are plenty of opportunities to get the heart racing – scuba diving, island hopping or wakeboarding should do the trick. Or, you can unwind in one of the two pools, on one of the hammocks dotting the grounds or over a cold drink at the beach bar.

Siargao Bleu Resort & Spa

If you want excellent service, warm hospitality and affordability in your luxury resort, Siargao Bleu is the place to be. Luxury comes in the form of a personalised butler service, upscale lodgings and locally sourced seafood in the restaurant. And, there are all the traditional island activities (snorkelling, diving and island hopping), plus sunset Zumba and water aerobics.

Nay Palad Hideaway

Sitting in ancient mangrove forests, right by the beach, Nay Palad is tropical luxury at its best. You’ll find plenty of nooks in which to hide from the sun with a good book, perhaps the Bali beach beds or a crow’s nest-style hideout. And, the ocean-view infinity pool has sunken loungers and hosts a regular movie night with a screen hung between palm trees.

Sandy Feet Siargao

Sandy Feet has a calming atmosphere and picturesque views of three islands – Daku, Naked and Guyam. Lodgings come in the form of comfortable, unpretentious villas; families should book the two-bed retreat, which also comes with a wraparound veranda. A stay also comes with two aromatherapy sessions per week, complimentary breakfasts and the chance to rent paddleboards, surfboards and motorbikes.
