There is always room for more kindness in the world, especially today when it’s so easy for optimism and happiness to wane amidst a seemingly endless stream of bad news. The smallest acts of goodness can go very far. And who better to give this reminder than everyone’s favorite red Muppet character?

Happy, vibrant, little Elmo from the children’s favorite classic Sesame Street has made his way onto Manila’s streets for the sole purpose of spreading kindness.

In the video, he visits the most iconic tourist spots in the Metro, such as Luneta Park, Intramuros, and Manila Bay. He even stopped by a morning news show on the ABS-CBN News Channel to talk about his visit and its purpose.

The long-haul trip was made for the show’s year-long global multimedia campaign called Spread Kindness, #ShareTheLaughter. After conducting a national survey, the show’s team discovered that parents and teachers are worried about the world in which children are growing up today – one that is unkind and where people are less helpful. This campaign became their response to that discovery.

They aim to use various media platforms to promote their cause, from screening kindness-themed episodes on TV to launching challenges on social media that advocate positivity and happiness.
