Unesco-recognised Vigan is one of the oldest cities in the Philippines and hosts the Binatbatan cultural festival. Horse-drawn carriages roll along cobbled streets; so-called Earthquake-Baroque churches draw crowds for evening mass. There are modern attractions too, including the dancing light show at Plaza Salcedo, and don’t forget to try your hand at pottery or weaving at the artisanal workshops. Explore it all with a stay in one of these excellent hotels in Vigan, bookable on Culture Trip.
