Nicknamed the Hinatuan Enchanted River, this glowing paradise is known throughout the world for its unusual colours.

Little is known about its unexplored depths, so it’s spawned a load of fantastical local legends.

According to some folk, elders used to tell stories of fairies adding the colours of sapphire and jade to river. The result? Its glittering and very unique shade of blue.

Some people go even further though, and say the river is haunted by all sorts of scary supernatural beings and enchantresses, which have left a load of charms and hexes to protect the place from us humans.

Known as the engkantos (the environmental witches of the river), local fisherman even say that it’s almost impossible to catch a fish through any means – and trust us, they’ve tried every way imaginable.
