True Delhi-wallahs adore a laid-back brunch over the weekend. The extensive selection of brunch spots, ranging from sumptuous five star hotels and restaurants to the rustic charm of Mediterranean tavern or easy-going local French bistro, makes it easy to satisfy any tastes. Here are the ten best brunch spots in New Delhi.

Olive Bar and Kitchen

Located next to one of the most impressive Delhi monuments, the ancient Qutub Minar, Olive Bar and Kitchen features delicious and nourishing Mediterranean dishes, including old-time favourites such as classic salads, seafood or wild mushroom risottos, and a variety of pasta dishes. The highlight of the menu, however, is the oven baked pizza, with the Milano paper pizza being the signature dish of this alfresco restaurant. Whilst seated in a white pebbled courtyard under Banyan trees, or at the tree-top terrace bar overlooking the Qutub Minar, Sunday brunch is a lovely way to celebrate the weekend.

Lodi Garden

Next to the beautiful Lodhi Gardens and around the corner of one of the country’s premier cultural institutions, India International Centre, Lodi Garden is one of the most popular alfresco restaurants among locals and tourists alike. Opened in 2005, the restaurant features modern European cuisine, with the occasional Indian twist. Lodi Garden is the perfect choice for a casual Sunday brunch. The restaurant, thoughtfully decorated with frescoes, wooden furniture, bamboo railings and pebbled walkways, has several seating areas, including the atrium, the terrace, the bar floor and the garden.

Fio – Cookhouse & Bar

A newcomer to Delhi restaurant scene, Fio Cookhouse and Bar provides a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of the district of Nehru place. The restaurant features an eclectic combination of contemporary European and Indian cuisine. With an extensive list of salads, soups, sumptuous gratins and casseroles, juicy Indian kebabs and mutton curries, kalonji panner, spicy biryanis and sweet desserts, the Fio Cookhouse and Bar is a perfect place for a rejuvenating Sunday brunch. The chic and charming interior, filled with lush plants, antique objects, chandeliers and plush upholstery complements the outside area, with glass lanterns, stone pathways and traditional furniture, recreating the atmosphere of a rustic, countryside tavern.

Sunday brunch at Claridges

The hotel Claridges is the best choice when it comes to a luxurious, elegant and lavish Sunday brunch experience in New Delhi. Whilst listening to live music and overlooking beautiful, palm-lined inner garden of Claridges Hotel, the guests can enjoy multitude of European, Oriental and Indian dishes. A large selection of freshly baked pastries, gourmet cheese and meat platters, healthy salads, and counters, serving Italian pasta, grills, sausages, Chinese dim sums, Indian curries and paranthas cater to every taste. The brunch includes the option for unlimited champagne or cocktails, available at the interactive flaring bar, where guests if wish so can mix their own drinks.

Oriental Avenue at Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel

One of the few places in New Delhi to offer brunch on Saturdays, the restaurant 19 Oriental Avenue offers extensive Asian buffet spread, including authentic Cantonese, Japanese and Thai dishes such as delicious sushi and sashimi, spicy Thai curries, fresh salads and live tempura and dim sum. Situated on the second floor of Shangri-La’s Eros Hotel, the restaurant charms its guests with a warm and cosy interior design, decorated with beautiful Oriental sculptures and art. Whilst brunch includes the option for unlimited cocktails or champagne, the highlight of the menu remains the fresh and delicious seafood, particularly mouth-watering shrimp tempura and fresh sashimi.

Amour

After a night out in the charming Hauz Khas Village on Saturday night, you will want to return the next day for a laid back and cosy Sunday brunch. Amour, the patio restaurant, cafe and bar, not only serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine, but offers one of the best rooftop views over the lake and the 13th century Hauz Khas village monuments. The brunch offers a variety of tasty and hefty dishes, freshly made from local ingredients, such as live grills, pastas, cold cut platters, wood-fired pizzas, pastries and desserts, as well as the option for unlimited cocktails, sangria, beer and sparkling wine.

Kylin Premier

Situated on the third floor of Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj, Kylin Premier is renowned for its tasty and well-priced Oriental brunch. Each Sunday, this modern and stylish restaurant offers various signature dishes of Asian cuisine, ranging from the steamy Cantonese dim sum to classic Thai green curry. The brunch also includes a variety of sparkling wine, champagne, mojitos and even sangria, a rarity in Delhi. The dim lighting, warm colours and open bar area create a relaxing yet sophisticated atmosphere, perfect for a Sunday outing with friends.
