Take a Detour at the Kambada Ganesh Temple
Thousands flock the doorways that lead to prominent pilgrimage sites in Bangalore. Located in the town center, this temple is famous for the monolithic statue of Lord Ganesha that can be seen embedded in the pillars. Many devotees visit the temple to seek fulfillment, singing hymns and reciting eminent shlokas to show their respect for their god. While some pray for prosperity, many others yearn for wisdom and a positive environment.
Enjoy a Nature Walk to Muthyala Madu
Also known as the Pearl Valley, Muthyala Madu is one of the most spectacular sites to visit in Anekal. The place brings travelers close to nature: embark on a morning trail to the hilly terrains of the valley, which is located 40 kilometers away from Bangalore and approximately four kilometers from Anekal. The site offers picturesque views of the green surroundings and is a fabulous picnic spot if you’re with family or friends. Muthyala Madu is popular for the miniature water fall that cascades down from a height of 280 feet, shining bright and brilliant as a pearl in the morning rays.
Shopaholics Bonanza at Chandapura Market
Anekal presents one of the most famous bazaars in the urban district: the Chandapura Market which attracts a large crowd every weekend. Visitors will come across miniature stalls spread out on the streets of the main market where a number of local goods such as traditional garments, wooden handicrafts, home-cooked achaar (also known as pickle) and authentic home decor, are sold. While you’re busy finding your way past the bustling crowd, fruit vendors and tiny food stalls, you can pick out some fresh flowers.
Spending the Evening at a Local Tavern
The Tap House, is one of the most popular pubs of the Electronic City. The restaurant-bar offers a vibrant atmosphere where you can gorge on mouthfuls of chicken wings whilst enjoying a Cosmopolitan.
Go on a trek to Skandagiri Hills
Skandagiri, also known as Kalavara Durga, is a popular trekking spot near Anekal. The trek takes you through beautiful landscapes and leads to a hilltop where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surroundings.
