7 Best Rooftop Swimming Pools in Hong Kong
In Hong Kong, the city that boasts more skyscrapers than anywhere else, almost everything is done at a height – even swimming. Here are the city’s best rooftop pools where you literally get to swim on top of the world.
Ritz-Carlton Pool
Fancy a swim in the clouds? Perched on the 118th floor of Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, the infinity pool is the highest swimming pool in the world. At 484 metres above street level, you’ll need a head for heights to swim here, but it’s well worth it for the breathtaking views. The ceiling of the pool is made up of 144 LED screens which display soothing illustrations of coral reefs, clear blue skies and other nature scenes. For the extra brave, there’s an outdoor whirlpool too.
W Hotel Wet Pool
Also high on our list and high in the sky (literally) is the Wet Pool at Hong Kong’s W Hotel. Located on the 76th floor, a cool 692 feet above ground, this luxury rooftop pool offers a unique swimming experience matched with panoramic city and harbour views. There’s a poolside bar too with lounge chair service so that you simply lay back and enjoy the high life.
Hotel Indigo
A unique experience, if not a little daunting, is swimming in this glass-bottomed infinity pool on the 29th floor of Hotel Indigo in Hong Kong’s Wan Chai area. Part of the pool hangs over the edge of the hotel allowing swimmers to look down on the streets below. Not for the faint hearted, it makes a great photo if you can get someone to snap you from below.
Four Seasons
Not only does the infinity pool at Four Seasons Hong Kong offer magnificent views overlooking the famous Victoria Harbour, the pool is heated all year round and equipped with speakers, so swimmers can enjoy music underwater. As well as the thrill of an underwater rave in the infinity pool, guests can enjoy the lap pool, plunge pool or whirlpool. There’s a lot of pool to go around!
Wellness Pool at Cordis, Hong Kong
Swimming on top of skyscrapers is the norm in this vertical city. The Wellness Pool on the 42nd floor of Cordis Hotel is a perfect example. Not only does this tranquil rooftop pool offer stunning views above water, but underwater the fun continues with an audio system and fibre optic lights, perfect for a pool party. Besides swimming, partying and taking in the views, there’s also a jacuzzi for relaxing in.
Harbour Grand Kowloon
Located on the 21st floor and complete with glass walls, this heavenly rooftop pool is matched only by the glorious harbour views it offers. A dip in the whirlpool here is the ultimate way to unwind. The pool bar and comfy chaise lounge chairs make it irresistibly easy to while away a whole day here.
Metropark Hotel
For that top-of-the-world feeling, look no further than the outdoor rooftop pool at Metropark Hotel in Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay area. Located on the 33rd floor it offers unobstructed views of the magnificent Victoria Harbour through it’s entirely glass-sided pool. To top off the experience, step into the adjacent jacuzzi for a moment of zen.
