In Hong Kong, the city that boasts more skyscrapers than anywhere else, almost everything is done at a height – even swimming. Here are the city’s best rooftop pools where you literally get to swim on top of the world.

Ritz-Carlton Pool

Fancy a swim in the clouds? Perched on the 118th floor of Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, the infinity pool is the highest swimming pool in the world. At 484 metres above street level, you’ll need a head for heights to swim here, but it’s well worth it for the breathtaking views. The ceiling of the pool is made up of 144 LED screens which display soothing illustrations of coral reefs, clear blue skies and other nature scenes. For the extra brave, there’s an outdoor whirlpool too.

W Hotel Wet Pool

Also high on our list and high in the sky (literally) is the Wet Pool at Hong Kong’s W Hotel. Located on the 76th floor, a cool 692 feet above ground, this luxury rooftop pool offers a unique swimming experience matched with panoramic city and harbour views. There’s a poolside bar too with lounge chair service so that you simply lay back and enjoy the high life.

Hotel Indigo

A unique experience, if not a little daunting, is swimming in this glass-bottomed infinity pool on the 29th floor of Hotel Indigo in Hong Kong’s Wan Chai area. Part of the pool hangs over the edge of the hotel allowing swimmers to look down on the streets below. Not for the faint hearted, it makes a great photo if you can get someone to snap you from below.
