Being the highest tower in Copenhagen, Tårnet couldn’t help but occupy the top of our list. Tårnet is the tower of Christiansborg Palace, the building that nowadays houses the Danish parliament, the Danish Prime Minister’s Office and the Supreme Court of Denmark. The 106-meter tower is located on Slotsholmen island in the heart of the city centre, so those who make it to the top will a magnificent view of Copenhagen’s most significant architectural landmarks.

2. AC Hotel by Marriott Bella Sky Copenhagen

Suite Hotel, Business Hotel, Hotel

Bella Sky in Ørestad is considered one of the most modern and innovative hotels in Copenhagen. How couldn’t it be? It consists of two awe-inspiring stretches 75 meters above ground. On the 23rd floor, on the top of the quirky leaning towers lies the hotel’s stylish Sky Bar welcoming visitors who want to indulge in a cocktail while gazing upon the Danish capital. Sky Bar is currently being renovated and is scheduled to open again in August.

The sight of the top of the Church of our Saviour‘s tower isn’t for the fainthearted. Not only is it one of Copenhagen’s highest points, but to reach the top visitors have to climb 400 steps, 150 of which wind around the outside of the spire. Oh! And we forgot to mention that when it’s windy (and it’s always windy in Denmark) the 90-meter-high spire, which is built of oak, can feel a little shaky. Nevertheless, it’s safe to visit as hundreds of tourists visit the baroque-style church every year in order to get a glimpse of Christianshavn from above.

4. Sticks'n'sushi Tivoli Hotel

Sticks’n’sushi is a real favourite among foodies due to its delicious Japanese delicacies not to mention its panoramic setting that offer guests a stunning view over the city. If you’re visiting Sticks’n’sushi on a warm sunny day make sure to grab a table at the restaurant’s outdoor rooftop bar. The view will leave you breathless.

The Rooftop is located close to the National Museum of Denmark, Tivoli Gardens and the Slotsholmen Island so expect to see some of the most spectacular buildings from a different angle. Multiple music events often take place during summertime while the rooftop on Vester Voldgade street gets packed with enthusiastic visitors.

The Round Tower is the oldest functioning astronomy observatory in Europe and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Denmark. Built in the 17th century by Christian IV, the impressive tower was used for many years for scientific research. In order to reach the top of the 114 feet (34.8 meters) tower and enjoy the view of the city’s old part, visitors have to walk up a 921-foot (281 meters) long spiral ramp. Unfortunately, there are no elevators but trust us – it is definitely worth the effort.

7. Bar Jacobsen (ILLUM Rooftop)
