Perhaps the most highly rated hotel in town, the lux Posada de la Laguna is a hit for its tastefully decorated rooms, stylish gaucho inspired decor and picturesque outdoor pool. Although admittedly quite expensive, two daily excursions are included in the rack rate and the in-house restaurant is divine.

Another superb upmarket option, Ñande Retá is situated in a lush garden complex surrounded by tall pine trees which, despite being in the middle of town, still manages to feel miles away from civilization. Much of the interior is decked out in rich polished wood, while the shared living room with crackling fireplace is about as cozy as it gets.

The highlight of this chic whitewashed estancia is undoubtedly its inviting turquoise colored infinity pool surrounded by leafy native vegetation. Then again, guests also rave about its serene outdoor sitting areas, one of which sits directly over the wetlands. Lunch and dinner are included in the rate so its a real bargain considering the quality of lodging.

An excellent midrange option is the rural Ypa Sapukai lodge, characterized by its attractive swimming pool amidst a leafy garden as well as spacious tile-floored rooms complete with rustic furnishings. Note that breakfast, lunch, dinner and a tour are included in the rack rate, meaning the lodge works out to be great value for money.
