Brunch, while one of the most important meals of the day, is just starting to make it to Kigali. With the city’s plentiful produce, farm fresh eggs, and excellent bakeries, Kigali’s breakfast and brunch scene is on the rise.

Even without a large menu, Inzora Rooftop Cafe still provides some of the best brunch and breakfast options in the city. Their yogurt, homemade granola, and passion fruit bowl is always a treat. Additionally, their coffee and fresh baked goods (some gluten-free) cannot be missed.

Hotel des Mille Collines has been a feature of the Kigali brunch and breakfast scene for many years. A wide selection of pastries, eggs, and meat is available, and a quick dip in the famous pool afterwards is recommended. Their Sunday brunch is particularly delicious.

Open all day, Java House is one of the only places in Kigali with a thorough and dedicated breakfast menu. Smoothies, milkshakes, croissant egg sandwiches, pancakes, and omelettes come recommended, as does their superb location in Kigali Heights.

This new bakery has quickly become one of Kigali’s best spots, providing delicious eclairs, viennoiseries, eggs, and more. Come for the vanilla eclair, and stay for the view and lovely ambiance.

J Lynn’s, previously named ABC Bagel, is the only place to get decent bagels in Kigali. Their homemade doughnuts (try the maple walnut!), chocolate chunk cookies, and fresh salads are also tasty.

The Soko Restaurant, located downstairs in the Kigali Marriott Hotel, offers one of the best brunch buffets in town. Selections of pastries, warm dishes, eggs made-to-order, pancakes, desserts, and more is available, not to mention made-to-order stir fry noodles as well. Their normal breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are also reliably good.

Rz Manna

A Korean bakery in the heart of the Nyarutarama neighborhood, Rz Manna supplies good pastries, smoothies, bagels, and an assortment of breakfast and brunch options. Their cakes are a Kigali favorite.
