Gothenburg is bursting with top-notch thrift stores and some great little markets that will have your vintage soul squealing with delight. And, while Swedes in general are known for their Scandi cool style, Gothenburg has its own aesthetic that runs right through the vintage scene. Here are the best thrift shops and markets in Gothenburg.

This huge indoor flea market has been around since 2000. With more than one hundred tables selling everything from clothing to kitchen aids to old movie projectors, just wandering around and taking it all in is worth the visit. In addition to some great bargains, there’s also some decent coffee on tap.

5. Miss Ragtime

Shop

Miss Ragtime has carefully selected vintage dresses, coats, jackets, boots, leather and much, much more. It’s the place to find hot labels from the ’70s, as well as the best of modern brands. You’ll also find some really great jewellery.

Bellevue Marknad is Gothenburg’s biggest and oldest indoor flea market, with more than 2000 square meters (21,500 square feet) of old stuff looking for new owners. The market is open for companies, drafts people, schools, organizations and pretty much everyone else. Lots to pick through and definitely a place to discover some hidden gems.

7. Kvillehyllan

Store

If you’re looking to get rid of a few things and replace them with some great finds, Kvillehyllan is a great place to start. You can rent shelves and fill them with whatever you want, and the store will sell it for you. People sell all kinds of vintage and second-hand, as well as their own designs, so great bargains are definitely on the menu.

8. POP Boutique

Store

Selling both their own POP label as well as top quality vintage from the ’50s through the ’90s, this boutique has buckets of style and a great selection of fashion with which to amp up your wardrobe.

9. Beyond Retro

Shop

Beyond Retro seems to be slowly taking over the vintage world and they’re doing it with style. Loads of vintage from every decade, as well as an excellent selection of jeans, leather, bags, hats, and shoes. Always busy and a great place to put together that killer outfit you’ve been dreaming about.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
