El Buen Suspiro is more like a winery and a wine shop than a real restaurant. But the extraordinary thing for Colonia del Sacramento is that they produce their own wine, liqueurs, cheese, marmalades and grappas (a grape-based brandy). Those products, made of best quality, can be tasted from the dégustation menu, which is prepared for two or three people. This bodega,as is called in Spanish, is located in a very calm place with its own garden. Their homemade food and drink products make perfect gifts.

La Casa de Jorge Páez Vilaró

This restaurant is not just a place for dining, it is also an art gallery which exhibits the paintings from Jorge Páez Vilaró, an Uruguayan artist who died in February 2014. La Casa de Jorge Páez Vilaró is a family restaurant, with only five tables inside, and one outside in the beautiful garden, which is perfect for a romantic meal. The stone walls and the wooden floor create a very unique ambiance and shows the furniture of the 18th century in a better light. Guests can try everything from different variations of pasta, to seafood and meat, and a great selection of desserts.
