Established in 1881, The Baths Middle Brighton features a street level café and upstairs restaurant – both with picturesque views of Port Phillip Bay and Melbourne’s city skyline. Perfect for a casual meal or relaxing tipple, the café offers an extensive breakfast and lunch menu including smoothies, seafood, salad, pizza, and pasta, while one level above you’ll find The Baths Upstairs which serves contemporary Australian cuisine with French influences. The venue also has an intimate private dining room for parties of up to 28 guests seated and up to 40 guests cocktail style.

2. Vivace

Located in Bay Street’s entertainment precinct, Vivace harmoniously marries the sophistication of upscale dining with a relaxed atmosphere. Opened in 2004, the restaurant owned by Chris Favaloro and co-host Andrew Zoli offers a modern Italian menu by Executive Chef, Davide Ferraro including house-made pasta, fresh Australian seafood and tempting desserts. Vivace also boasts four private dining rooms and the restaurant can be exclusively hired for larger events capable of accommodating up to 150 guests.

Celebrating the best of Spanish and Italian cuisine, Le Cinque Terre takes diners on an authentic journey through the Mediterranean. Brighton’s first tapas bar also holds themed nights including Tuesday pasta night, Wednesday tapas night, Thursday pescatore night and Sunday Paella day. The traditional menu includes Spanish and Italian favourites as well as a Chef’s Degustation menu, options for children and an award-winning wine selection. Le Cinque Terre can even accommodate your next celebration within The Secret Garden; a fully covered events space.

4. Sons of Mary

Named after their mum who lives down the street, Sons of Mary is owned by brothers Tim and Matthew Smith of past ventures such as The Flinders Hotel, The Brown Cow and The London. Filling a café void in Brighton, the converted warehouse has oodles of ambience and caters to hungry patrons seven days a week. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sons of Mary offers such meals as Smashed Avocado and Persian Feta with Egyptian Dukkah, Seafood Linguine, and Roasted Pressed Lamb Shoulder with Root Covelo Nero and Parsnip Mash.

5. Indian Palace

Opened in 2003, Indian Palace merges traditional Indian royal gastronomy with modern techniques. The highly diverse menu brings together cuisine once reserved for nobility, including Sheekh Kebabs from Punjab, Kashmiri Tikka from the Himalayan kingdoms of Jammu and Kashmir and Biryanis from the Nizams of Hyderabad. Additionally, there are two banquet options and an excellent wine selection. Located on Church Street, Indian Palace prides itself on offering food fit for royalty in an elegant yet welcoming setting.
