Edwina Corlette Gallery

This boutique gallery in New Farm specialises in contemporary Australian art and showcases a carefully curated selection from established and upcoming Australian and international artists. Philip Bacon Galleries

Known as one of Australia’s leading art galleries, Philip Bacon plays an essential role in Brisbane’s thriving art scene. The gallery has held exhibitions for some of Australia’s most celebrated contemporary artists since opening in 1974 and has become a true Brisbane icon.

Brisbane Powerhouse

Originally a power station in the 1920s, the Brisbane Powerhouse is now a cultural hub in New Farm. The gallery hosts 1,250 performances and events per year, including music acts, comedy, dance, film and digital arts. Powerhouse also organises the annual Brisbane Street Arts Festival, a citywide, outdoor festival held early in the year that showcases some of the best street art Brisbane has to offer.

(Tip: If you’re not in Brisbane for the festival, you can see some amazing street art on Constance Street in Fortitude Valley at Kerbside and the TRYP Hotel.)

QAGOMA

Queensland’s famous Gallery of Modern Art is a must-visit that holds an evolving collection of more than 17,000 works of art. Get lost in the current exhibitions on offer and admire the stunning gallery design. For those with children, QAGOMA has a dedicated kids art centre that is sure to entertain the budding creatives, as well as Mom and Dad.

(Tip: If you’re looking for a night out after your gallery exploration, don’t miss QAGOMA’s after-hours Up Late events, which often include live musical performances.)

Red Hill Gallery
