There are some international acts, but it’s mostly locals taking to the stage to provide the evening’s soundtrack. Don’t forget to stop by the bottle-o on your way, as the venue is often BYO.

Toes Brewery

Leave your dance shoes at home. This is one of the most laid-back venues on the list. You’ll find 10 Toes’ lagers and ales in many bars all along the coast, but they just seem to taste better when drunk just metres from where they were brewed.

Black Bunny Kitchen

It’s most famous for the cafe menu that puts local producers up on a pedestal. Brut on Saturday and Sunday evenings, Black Bunny Kitchen puts on a rollicking good time with live bands.

This is the Coast’s undisputed home of live music. The art-lined band room is often pulsing to the sound of live rap, rock, or roots, but you’re also likely to enjoy a decent tipple or two as well.
