Whether you’re a ‘Sunday session at your local bar‘ type of person, or the kind who has to see every big touring artist, you won’t miss out on the Gold Coast. There’s a venue to suit every kind of music lover down here.

1. Sound Lounge

Sound Lounge is actually nestled in the Currumbin RSL club but don’t let that put you off. They get some great touring artists and it’s not all locals covering Jason Moran and Shannon Knoll.

2. Iron and Resin Garage

You may know these guys for their riding and motor gear but they’re also open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week. Things get a bit more lively over the weekend when motor lovers (or just burger lovers) bring the family along and enjoy some live tunes and entertainment.

3. Hidden Groove

You’d be forgiven for not noticing Hidden as you pass by. This little hidden (would you believe?) bar down an alleyway is host to a great tapas menu, a list of small batch spirits, and a friendly vibe. Keep an eye out for their live music announcements, you won’t be disappointed with this gem.

4. Miami Marketta

Marketta is a feast for all the senses. You’ll find the Gold Coast’s best food trucks all in one place and a gig guide that can’t be beaten. Grab a bite to eat from one of the many street food vendors and settle in for some live music. You’ll find local artists as well as bigger bands like The Beautiful Girls playing.

5. Elsewhere Bar

This retro-chic nightclub is the Gold Coast’s go-to for when you just need a bit of a dance in the dark to some live music or DJ’s. They’ve got a great cocktail menu and mirror balls for full disco effect.

6. House of Brews

A Surfers Paradise tap house that provides great options for blues and rock lovers every weekend. The perfect place for a slow weekend session with some great food options, too – mac and cheese bites, yes please.
