Locals call Ashland The Centre of The Universe, which might sound arrogant, until you consider its location bang in the heart of Virginia, on the Route 1 highway. The town evolved from a small mineral springs resort in the late 1840s, and grew with the arrival of the Randolph Macon College in 1868. Today, it’s home to the Ashland Museum, Kings Dominion Theme Park and James River Cellars winery. Check into one of these top hotels in Ashland and explore it all – bookable via Culture Trip.
