A center for premier shopping centers and hotels located near the Galleria, Uptown Houston is stacked with a collection of tall skyscrapers, active nightlife, and trendy boutiques and cafes. With warm and inviting surroundings filled with lush fountains, detailed architecture, and pristine landscaping, Uptown is one destination that should be on your list for the Houston area.

Water 2 Wine

Sample wines from their menu or create your own personalized drink with Water 2 Wine. Experienced winemakers help you with the classic winemaking process, starting with grapes from around the world. Create your own batch, design custom labels, and bottle your unique wine for friends and family. All of the wines are fermented on-site and their menu caters to worldwide tastes, featuring white, rosé, and red wines in addition to sweet & fruity or dessert wine options. It takes about 6-8 weeks to complete the process, including a Bottling Party to celebrate the filling, corking, and labeling of your custom blend.

Top Gun

What’s Texas without a few guns? Top Gun Range provides a knowledge staff to help any rookie or veteran shooter, charging $15 per person for all-day shooting. Bring your own gun or rent one to use their indoor range. This is a great place for shooters of all levels as they offer multiple private, group, and international classes, such as the Concealed Handgun License (provided by Texas-certified instructors for $85). Range fees include eye protection, hearing protection, and a target.

Pinot’s Palette

Located near the Galleria, this date & painting spot allows you to work on your artistry while enjoying your favorite bottle of wine. Local artists will help guide you, so no experience is necessary to enjoy the fun. Host a private party, take a BYOB class, or enjoy complimentary wine tastings on certain dates. Opened in 2009, Pinot’s Palette has been sweeping across the country due to its relaxed and creative atmosphere.

Wild West

Bar

Grab your boots and get kicking at Wild West, a popular dance club featuring country music complemented by cheap drinks and two-stepping. Charging a $10 cover for those under 18 and $2 for those of legal drinking age, this contemporary country bar also plays Top 40, hip-hop, and pop classics. There is a large dance floor with cocktail tables and bars floating around the room. Head there on Sunday from 4:30-6PM for free dance classes, too! Be sure to check their website for special discounts and promotions.

Williams Waterwall

Park

Perfect for a picnic or philosophical contemplation of a historical landmark, Williams Waterwall is the #1 photographed landmark in all of Houston. It’s a beautiful place to observe, think, or relax while taking in the full glory of this massive architecture. Stand in the center to get the full experience, catching a cool mist to make it a refreshing day.
