Hudson Yards might be one of the newest neighborhoods in New York City, but this shimmering assortment of cloud-piercing skyscrapers is already served by an array of hotels to accommodate every traveler.

A $25b transformation of the industrial Far West Side of Midtown South, Hudson Yards sits at the northern end of the High Line. That location ensures a steady stream of strolling visitors, as does the Shed, a cutting-edge cultural center; the Edge, New York’s loftiest open-air observatory; and the Vessel, a 16-story maze of staircases. If you’re itching to explore the area, book one of the hotels below, each of which is in Hudson Yards or within walking distance.

Equinox Hotel New York

A luxury property looming over Bella Abzug Park, this Equinox Hotel has earned a reputation as the healthiest hotel in the Big Apple. It offers hydration-boosting IV vitamin therapy, minibars packed with more than 80 nutrient-stuffed snacks, vitamins and supplements and bespoke skincare products by Grown Alchemist. You’ll also find the exclusive Rituals in-room video series that will talk you through stretching, meditation and breathwork, and a smorgasbord of fitness classes at the health club and spa. If you’re tired after a workout, everything in your ultra-chic monochrome room – from ordering room service to closing the curtains – is controlled by an app, while the in-house eatery, Electric Lemon, occupies the rooftop terrace.

In the humming Garment District, this Renaissance echoes its stylish surroundings. Here, fashion-focused artwork adorns the polished concrete walls, and the suave Thread Bar reflects the nearby rag trade. The virtual-reality concierge on the 34th floor is a blast from the future, while the cosmopolitan cuisine at VERSA is equally modern. And don’t miss an evening on the rooftop deck peering over Madison Square Garden and the Hudson Yards high-rises a few blocks west.

Crowne Plaza HY36 Midtown Manhattan

Another Garment District hotel benefiting from the Hudson Yards revival is the luxury Crowne Plaza HY36 Midtown Manhattan; it looks right at home among the shimmering new Midtown towers. Breathing new life into an old parking garage when it opened in 2017, this boutique property retained the glass-and-steel façade, giving an industrial-chic edge to the open-air TGA NYC restaurant and beer garden, complete with an eminently photogenic NYC mural. Inside, the sleek rooms feature Keurig coffee makers and Beekman 1802 bathroom amenities.

The New Yorker a Wyndham Hotel

The bright red New Yorker sign has been a staple of the Manhattan skyline since 1929 – sitting atop an icon in the same art deco style as the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. The 1,000-plus rooms and suites have welcomed generations of huge names – Nikola Tesla, Fidel Castro and Muhammad Ali among them – but have been rejuvenated to accommodate more business travelers in the wake of the Hudson Yards project. Thankfully, that facelift has bleached none of the character from the façade, the chandelier-lit marble lobby, the ’50s-style 24-hour Tick Tock Diner or art deco dining room of the Trattoria Blanca.

Staypineapple, an Artful Hotel, Midtown New York

If SpongeBob was booking a bed in Hudson Yards, this is where he’d choose. Staypineapple isn’t coy about its theme: pineapples and lots of them. This tropical fruit’s golden hue is splashed across every corner of this artful hotel, from the embroidered pineapples on the pillows to the signature pineapple treats served with coffee every afternoon. The funky rooms – each of which comes with a plush puppy on the bed, a zebra-print rug on the floor and technicolor curtains on the windows – also promise “the Naked Experience,” meaning European linen, fluffy bathrobes and feather-soft towels all so comfy that you’ll want to slip into your birthday suit.

TRYP by Wyndham New York City Times Square South

Across 36th Street from Staypineapple and not far from the Crowne Plaza, this Wyndham property is another installment in this hub of hot Hudson Yards hotels. Here, spacious rooms showcase more eclectic design than most chain hotels – the statement wallpaper, hardwood floors and city map headboards are something you’d sooner expect in a boutique property. Meanwhile, the exposed brick and chalkboard menus in Gastro Bar at 35th provide just as much character during mealtime.

Moxy NYC Times Square

Moxy – the Marriott millennial brand – combines hostel-style social spaces with the privacy of your own room. On top of the boutique-like bedrooms equipped with smart technology, this New York location offers digital nomads co-working spaces and four in-house eateries, including Bar Moxy – a workspace by day and watering hole by night – and the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge, an amusement-park-inspired space with a minigolf course and sparkling carousel. There’s even the Blind Barber for a snip or JonBoy Tattoo for a permanent souvenir of your stay. Despite the name, Moxy NYC Times Square is closer to Macy’s and the Empire State Building than the neon lights of the crowded tourist hotspot, and just a stroll from the shimmering new developments of Hudson Yards.
