Free parking in Las Vegas is a blessing. Who wants to pay for something so mundane when Sin City’s all-night casinos, poolside bars and Michelin-starred restaurants are calling? Instead, stay in one of these hotels with free parking, and spend your cash on something much more tantalizing.

1. The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod

Just north of The Strip and standing at 1,149ft (350m) tall, the STRAT’s space-age tower looms high above its neighbors. At its top sits the SkyPod, home to haute cuisine and astonishing panoramas. Here, you’ll also find the wobbly knees-inducing SkyJump – step out from the 108th floor, and plummet towards the landing pad at 40mph (65kph). Keep a change of pants in your vehicle, which can be parked for free at the resort’s eight-story garage.

2. Treasure Island Hotel and Casino

Opened in 1993, Treasure Island began life as a pirate-themed resort with an emphasis on family fun. The Pirate Battle show has now been discontinued in favor of a bounty of disparate excitements, including the interactive Marvel Avengers exhibit and Cirque du Soleil’s show Mystère. Treasure Island also has a popular casino, a heated outdoor pool with a 25-person hot tub and plenty of bars and restaurants. Whatever your reason for visiting, a free self-park garage has 632 spaces and is open all day, every day.

3. Tropicana Las Vegas

South of The Strip sits the Tropicana, an elegant offering from Doubletree by Hilton with a 50,000sqft (4,645sqm) casino. Spend the cash you saved at the hotel’s free parking at the high-limits blackjack and mini-baccarat tables. The resort also has a fitness center, an outdoor pool and a luxury spa. In the evening, try to catch the longest-running show in Vegas, Legends in Concert, in which a dazzling array of tribute acts and dancers rip through pop’s most famous tunes.

4. Trump International Hotel Las Vegas

The Trump Resort’s 64-story golden tower shimmers high above The Strip. From its privileged position on Las Vegas’s skyline, it offers (arguably) some of the best views around. As a non-gaming, non-smoking venue, it might make a welcome change from some of the rowdier resorts. A kids’ program, complimentary valet parking and a swimming pool make it a good option for families.

5. SAHARA Las Vegas

In the middle of the Mojave, at the northern end of The Strip, the SAHARA is anything but deserted. Here, you’ll find a 60,000sqft (5,575sqm) chandeliered casino with all the spinning slots and table games you could hope for. The resort also has the luxurious Amina Spa, rooftop pools and several restaurants, the highlight being Bazaar Meat by celebrity chef José Andrés. Parking is free for hotel guests.

6. Fremont Hotel & Casino

Fremont Street, Las Vegas’s neon-lit pedestrian mall, is home to wild street performers, live music and one of the world’s largest LED screens. It’s easily accessed with a stay at the Fremont Hotel & Casino, which sits right at its heart. The accommodation offered is plain yet comfortable. The hotel offers some fabulous dining options, including the Second Street Grill, where juicy steaks are served to perfection. There’s no parking on-site, but free valet parking is available to hotel guests.

7. Main Street Station Hotel & Casino

One for sophisticates who don’t want to pay top dollar, Main Street Station is a Victorian-themed hotel with its own micro-brewery. Taste its golden output at the Triple 7 bar and restaurant, which also serves handmade pizzas and gourmet burgers. Aside from producing fresh beer, this hotel also offers a no-frills room to lay your head. Its casino has some of the best table rates in Vegas and free parking for guests.

8. Four Queens

Despite its regal name, the Four Queens is one of the best budget options in Las Vegas. Rooms are basic but have all the essentials. The hotel also has its own casino, restaurants and entertainment venue. Free self-parking is provided in the multi-story garage next door. The real attraction, however, is its location on Fremont Street. Spend your savings on its many delights, which include the 11-story-high zipline known as SlotZilla.
