The North End neighborhood of Boston may be known for its Italian eateries and delicious bakeries, but there are also many great bars where you can grab a drink. Some of these bars are also restaurants, yet they all serve up cocktails, beers, and a variety of fine wines. Stop into one of these establishments if you find yourself thirsty in the North End.

1. Stanza dei Sigari

Complete with a unique atmosphere, Stanza dei Sigari was once a speakeasy and is now a cigar parlor and liquor lounge. Step into this bar and pretend you’re in the 1920s as you sip a cocktail. Try something from their impressive single malt scotch collection or go for a fine cognac.

2. Parla Restaurant

This modern Italian restaurant serves up delicious cocktails and is a perfect place for an after-dinner drink. Parla Restaurant creates custom cocktails, often made with whiskey. Inspired by a speakeasy, the bar’s décor, and its ambiance, is a fine balance between old and new. If you get hungry, order up one of their delicious small plates.

3. Corner Cafe

Corner Cafe is a dive bar located in the North End on Prince Street. Stop by here for a beer before a sports game or enjoy a night out at this small, relaxed pub. It’s a classic, local dive bar that offers up a good beer selection, delicious margaritas, and even encourages patrons to bring in food from other establishments. Tip: it’s cash-only.

Boston Sail Loft is a waterside maritime restaurant that serves up seafood and also has a lively bar scene. Enjoy lobster and clam chowder, or just go for their top notch cocktails like the North End mule or the Paloma. Take in the views of the Boston Harbor and relax at this old time, casual restaurant.

6. Ward 8 Restaurant & Bar

Ward 8 has a beautiful bar made out of marble where you can enjoy vintage-inspired craft cocktails and gastropub eats. Sip on a Scorched Earth cocktail with Del Maguey Vida, Ancho Reyes, and Aztec chocolate bitters, or order one of their other custom drinks.

7. Vinoteca di Monica

Vinoteca di Monica is a wine bar offering up delicious Italian dishes alongside a wide selection of wines. They have an award-winning wine cellar and serve up dishes in a quaint, stylish environment. If you’re unsure about which wine to try, be sure to ask one of the knowledgeable bartenders.
