Bar Liquorice

Bar Liquorice features extraordinary cocktails and happy hour specials that last all night long. The bar features some unusually combined cocktails, but they are game changers once they hit the tastebuds. Choose from a Manhattan with a special barrel blend, or the limoncello collins. They also have an ever-changing cocktail menu that the bartenders like to add special touches to, like an aviation cocktail with violet liquor. It is absolutely one of the best bars in Baltimore.

Rye

Located in Fells Point, this cozy bar, Rye, has a copper bar counter and a lodge atmosphere in its back room. The menu is organized from ‘East Listening’ libations to ‘Outlaw Country’ potions. Try their signature cocktail, the ‘Diamondback,’ or try any of their classic cocktails for a kick. If you mention where you’re going afterwards to the bartender, they may even send you along with a ‘boomerang’—a cylinder of shots with a love note to your next bartender.

Wit & Wisdom

Located in Harbor East, Wit & Wisdom has beautiful views from inside the Four Seasons Hotel. The bartenders are updated on the latest trends in mixology and those that are right around the corner, from barrel-aging to bottled cocktails. They take a culinary expertise to the art of drink-making. Seasonal cocktails abound, like the Winter’s Decadence cocktail with Hardy’s VS Cognac, oolong breakfast tea and spiced apple. Toss in almond syrup and lime, and you’ve got yourself a drink you can’t find anywhere else. For happy hour, you can also get the bartenders’ choice cocktail of the week or a house-made infusion.

W.C. Harlan

With no sign outside, W.C. Harlan is a favorite, hole-in-the-wall speakeasy fixture of Baltimore. They serve a cocktail du jour that changes daily and has never been the same since the bar opened in 2013. Also try one of their classic cocktails, or ask the expert bartenders for their suggestions. Cocktail options here are plentiful with many build-your-own possibilities. The dim lighting and vintage tango music make the chic rustic-country atmosphere an eclectic and sophisticated excursion for the evening.

Annabel Lee Tavern

Named after a poem by famous literary icon and Baltimore resident Edgar Allen Poe, Annabel Lee Tavern is a chic gothic cocktail bar in the Canton neighborhood. The delicious Poe-themed cocktails make this an experience only found in Baltimore. Choose from concoctions such as the The Raven, with blackberry and blue curaçao or the Sepulcher, with pear cider, Fireball whiskey garnished with a pear slice. Cocktails range from around $9-$10. The bar also includes mouthwatering appetizers like the crab cake and duck fat fries. Plus, the gothic decor makes this a nice cozy hideaway with a setting that you will only find here.
