New Orleans is a place where it’s easy to make new friends, but you still want your furry friend to be along with you for the ride. Hotels that welcome pets in the Big Easy range from traditional, full-service hotels to homey guesthouses. If you are looking for a pet-friendly hotel in New Orleans, consider these options, bookable on Culture Trip.
This is a contemporary conversion, housed in the stately New Orleans Public Service Inc. building in the Central Business District (CBD): admire the interiors, restored to their original 1920s grandeur. If you love art deco, you’ll adore the sconces and terrazzo floors. Aside from plush beds, food and water bowls for your pet, the pastry team will whip up treats to deliver in-room. You can breakfast on bennies and grits at Public Service. When you’ve visited Crescent Park dog run, park the pooch in your comfortable cream room and retire to the rooftop pool.
It was named for the Queen & Crescent railroad lines that once connected the Queen City (Cincinnati) and the Crescent City (New Orleans) – high ceilings, exposed brick and subway tiles nod to the origins of this building, in the CBD between the French Quarter and Warehouse District. Rooms feel cozy, with custom wood pieces and navy and white feature wallpaper. From the health-conscious to the hungover, everyone loves lounging in the atmospheric lobby with handcrafted cocktails. Explore the area with your dog – you’re 10 minutes on foot from Bourbon Street and a block or two from verdant Lafayette Square.
In the heart of the downtown business district is this pet-friendly hotel, all sleek rooms with hardwood floors and leather accents, Cats and dogs are welcome – you can leave them for a bit if you hang a Pet Inside sign on the door. Your cue to nip up to the rooftop sundeck for a little relaxation – or to Laurel Oak restaurant, to sample jerk-spiced duck. You’re only a few blocks from the French Quarter, so walk your dog past the famous jazz clubs and Cajun restaurants en route to leafy Louis Armstrong Park.
In the happening Warehouse District, a 20-minute walk from Bourbon Street is this selection of rooms – see the deco details, the tooling in woods and leathers. Suites add retro turntables, patio rooms add balconies or sun decks. Ask about babysitting for your pet, since the rooftop pool is a top local party spot. The next day, for sore heads there’s always Josephine Estelle, a light-filled spot with a gleaming marble bar: rock u to refuel on lemon ricotta pancakes with sour orange marmalade and cream cheese.
Housed in a row of restored 19th-century warehouses, this hip Arts District hotel is a three-minute walk from Harrah’s Casino. It’s a pet-friendly boutique property where beds, bowls, and ID tags for up to three animals come as standard. Once a candle factory, it retains some of its industrial aesthetic. Every room and suite is a winner, but we’d go for the Artist Loft Suites, curated by local artists. Downstairs, you’ll find a charming gift shop, a bar and a restaurant helmed by Nina Compton, one of the best chefs in the city, serving Caribbean-influenced dishes such as curried goat with sweet potato gnocchi.
With bright colors and youthful, minimal decor, the style of Aloft hotels encourages you to have a good time. This one, in New Orleans’ Central Business District, is two blocks from the French Quarter – the perfect base for explorations with your dog. (Cats, too, are allowed to stay.). They’ll get treats, beds and bowls, but note that they cannot be left unattended in rooms. So pick up some beers and snacks from local stores or the club-like lobby’s vending machines and head out together for a picnic in the park three blocks away – or in your room.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.
Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.
We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
