With four NASCAR races zooming around the 1.5mi (2.4km) track every year, you’ve got multiple opportunities to catch an event at Kansas Speedway. Close to both Kansas Cities, but in the Wheat State itself, the Kansas Speedway keeps the thrills going with the Hollywood Casino just a stone’s throw from the track. Buckle up for some fun when you pull into these hotels near the Kansas Speedway, bookable on Culture Trip.

1. No Vacancy, for trendy trimmings

Don’t worry, despite its name, No Vacancy has a room ready for you. You’ll have to scoop up one of their eight studio apartments as quickly as possible though, as the original hardwood flooring, restored casement windows and exposed brick make it a popular spot for trendy young gearheads. You could even lock it down for you and your pals by booking out the whole place for one of the coolest sleepovers possible.

2. The Fontaine, for a bespoke experience

Luxuriously sophisticated, the Fontaine flaunts its handblown Venetian glass chandelier, Renaissance artwork and marble lobby floor, embellished with custom mosaics. All suites have Carrara marble vanities and bespoke beds, while the Presidential Suite’s luxurious oversized bathroom and 750sqft (70sqm) terrace have hosted world leaders, CEOs, celebrities – and now you and your distinguished guests.

3. The Raphael Hotel, for the best of business and pleasure

The live jazz at Chaz on the Plaza really brings out the flavor in the dry-aged prime KC strip steak at the Raphael Hotel. Remember that when you’re closing the deal of the year in one of the hotel’s business or boardroom suites. Before loosening that tie, you’ll be hard at work, well catered for with a conference table for six and dedicated workstations free from distraction. They even offer a shoeshine service, so you’re polished from head to toe.

5. Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown, for starting grid proximity

Hotel Indigo may not wave the green flag, but it’s definitely a perfect starting point for your weekend at the Kansas Speedway. You can race across the state line to the track in less than twenty minutes, so no need to neck that double espresso from Dott Boss. In fact, you should cool it on the whole pit-crew-style rush, and hang out in your spa-like bathroom until it’s time for checkout.

6. Hotel Phillips Kansas City, Curio Collection by Hilton, for convention center convenience

Hotel Phillips is your ticket to the best of Kansas City’s Power & Light District. Their free shuttle covers a 3mi (4.8km) grid, zipping and zapping you to electric spots like the T-Mobile Center and the Convention Center. No need to venture out to find a good time; bypass the Goddess of Dawn sculpture in the lobby and scope out the basement, where there may or may not be a speakeasy filled with decades-old spirits.

7. Crossroads Hotel, for rooftop foolery

You won’t feel torn when considering the Crossroads Hotel. If the eclectic wine list at Lazia Italian restaurant doesn’t sway your decision, then a game of bowls in the Percheron rooftop beer garden surely will. Meanwhile, guest rooms with exposed brick walls, hardwood floors and original industrial features will reassure you that you made the right decision.

8. Ambassador Hotel, for jazz-age drama

Swanky yet classy in ways that epitomize the 1920s, the Ambassador Hotel is a grand retreat among the Kansas City streets. The executive double queen may be the smallest of the suites, but its floor-to-ceiling windows and walk-in shower are luxurious all the same. The flavors of Kansas City come alive in more ways than one at Lonnie’s Reno Club, where classic jazz and a fixed-price menu deliver a toe-tapping, hip-swaying good time.
