Between the Bun – Burgers, Dogs and More

If you’re looking to sink your teeth into a mouthwatering, juicy burger, then Between the Bun should be at the top of your list. Their burgers are so delicious that they have won numerous awards. Standout options include their signature burger, The Big Daddy, with two 8oz burgers with cheddar cheese, blue cheese, applewood smoked bacon, spicy Buffalo sauce, and typical burger accoutrements, and The Atomic Dawg, with a lot of spice. You can substitute the beef patty for a grilled turkey, chicken or veggie patty and complement it with plenty of side options. Visit for lunch or dinner Tuesday through Sunday.

The locally owned Jockamo Upper Crust Pizza offers guests a variety of appetizers such as goat cheese-stuffed peppadew peppers with house-made chili oil, and sandwiches such as the meatball sub and BBQ pork. Of course, their specialty is pizzas though, with a wide range of toppings. The roasted potato pizza topped with skin-on red potatoes, tomato, green onions, cheddar cheese and bacon is one tasty choice. Imbued with international flavors, the pizzas also include options such as The Bollywood, the Thai, and the Mediterranean.

Main St. Grille

Ever since Craig Spencer took over ownership of Main St. Grille there have been some great improvements. The patio has been enlarged, comfortable seating added, and wood-fired pizzas have been added to the menu. Mr. Spencer is also a proponent of supporting the community; therefore, you can expect to find fresh ingredients sourced from local purveyors and local craft brews. In additions to the pizzas (try the primavera bursting with veggie goodness) the menu also features starters, soups, salads, sandwiches and house specialties such as the mushroom and Swiss burger served with a choice of one side dish such as Jamaican coleslaw, the grill’s signature side.

Oaken Barrel Brewing Company

Oaken Barrel Brewing Company has two bars and an outside dining space with a section specifically for families, meaning everyone can enjoy this friendly joint. The menu is full of diverse options; start out with some fried pickles for the whole table before tucking into a plate of Claus’ sausage sampler or the Hoosier tenderloin sandwich. Be sure to wash it all down with one of their handcrafted brews which include the tasty Razz-Wheat.
