Silverland Bakery

The Silverland Bakery dates all the way back to 1983, and its heritage is matched by the pedigree of its clients as it supplies brownies, old-fashioned bakery bars, cookies and more to many of Chicago’s high-end restaurants and caterers, as well as Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and Nordstrom’s. It offers sugar-free treats such as the double chocolate brownie, the cocoa cow cheesecake brownie, and the popular lemon shortbread bar.

Sprinkles Cupcakes

Sprinkles Cupcakes just off the Magnificent Mile

Anywhere with an ATM for cupcakes must be worth a visit, right? Chicago was the second location in the country to have a Sprinkles ATM for fast and easy purchasing, and though it doesn’t offer a range of sugar-free options, its most famous cupcake, the Red Velvet, is available sugar-free, as well as gluten-free and vegan. Look out for the red “S” on the top to know it’s the sugar-free Red Velvet, and remember that the ATM is open 24 hours for those late-night cravings.

Gayety’s Chocolates & Ice Cream

A Chicago institution since 1920, Gayety’s Chocolates & Ice Cream is now located in Lansing, Illinois, approximately 30 miles (48.2 kilometers) from the Loop, but it’s well worth the journey. Its sugar-free selections include the “Sugar Free Signature Assortment” and the “Sugar Free Muddles Galore,” featuring hand-dipped Muddles pecan caramels, chocolate almond clusters, and butter toffee. You don’t have to leave the city to get your hands on them either, as they can be found at the following locations.

Cora Lee Candies

Up in Glenview, Cora Lee Candies is most famous for its English toffee, but it also offers a number of sugar-free candies and chocolate products. Everything is handmade on-site on a daily basis to guarantee freshness, and shipping to anywhere in the U.S. is available. The Cora Lee’s “Sugar Free Assortment” is a one pound box of low-salt, no-sugar chocolate candies, including toffees, caramels, creams, and more.

Fannie May

Chicago’s most famous brand of chocolates since 1920, Fannie May offers no-added-sugar versions of many of its most popular products, including No Sugar Added Mint Meltaways® and Pixies®. To try a selection, the “No Sugar Added Chocolate Assortment” includes Pixies®, milk chocolate vanilla buttercreams, peanut clusters, mini peanut butter cups, milk chocolate cherry, dark sea salt caramels and dark raspberry. Fanny May has stores all over Chicago and across Illinois.
