George’s Bar & Restaurant opened in 1961 and has been serving some of the best burgers in town alongside great beer ever since. The interior of the bar reflects the ‘hip sensibilities’ of the surrounding area while paying tribute to Atlanta’s vibrant past. The relaxing environment of the restaurant offers comfortable seating. 4. Moe’s and Joe’s Tavern

In 1947, a couple of years after coming back home from World War II, brothers Moe and Joe Krinsky opened their tavern specializing in cold beer, hot dogs, and hamburgers. They hired their first employee in 1949, and the legendary Mr. Horace McKinnie served the patrons of Moe’s & Joe’s until he retired in 2001. In the 1950’s Pabst Blue Ribbon began to be served on tap, and people from all over the city still visit the bar to savor the drink. This tavern is popular not just among locals but also travelers and the Georgia Tech and Emory crowds.
