Copperfish Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar

Absolute-must tries are the Peanut Butter and Jelly Foie Gras, Duck Wings A L’Orange, and the Scallop a la Greque. Green Lemon is a modern Mexican restaurant that serves trendy Mexican food right in the heart of Hyde Park. If you’re in the mood for amazing tacos, then Green Lemon is the place to stop by and try out. They’re fun, trendy, and packed with personality from the second you walk in the front door. Don’t forget to visit during happy hour to enjoy some of their top-line tequila lines from around the world. Boca is a highly-popular farm-to-table restaurant that stands out from the pack. Boca is a trendy little place that prides itself on their food and ingredients they use from local sources. The original owner of Boca built the building brick-by-brick all on his own. Some of their inventive dishes include Florida Shrimp and Grits, Sous Vide 60 Spiced Chicken, and Bahn Mi Flat-bread. Boca also offers a ‘Staff Meal,’ which changes daily and is the chef’s choice for the night.
Bern’s Steak House
Bern’s Steak House is so good that people travel from cities a few hours away to enjoy a filling, classic meal there. While it doesn’t look like much from outside, you’ll be immersed in the atmosphere once you step inside the front doors. Make sure to call ahead and get a reservation or else you could be waiting over an hour for a table if you try to walk in. Excellent ways to start off your night would be with their French Onion Soup or Cesar Salad, before trying their famous Chateaubriand steak. You can follow up your meal with their gigantic specialty dessert menu, which includes a variety of dessert wines and all-star items like Chocolate Peanut Butter Trifle and Bern’s Baked Alaska. Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant
The great thing about Ceviche Tapas Bar is that you can sit at the bar, order a Sangria, and still get some of the best food Tampa’s Hyde Park has to offer. Make sure to start your night off with their famous Sangrias, both white or red, and try one of their varieties of ceviches – the namesake for their chain. Standout tapas are also served, including Bacalao Bilbaina (crispy fried cod, sauteed red peppers, garlic, spicy olive oil, and sliced potatoes), and Gambas Al Ajillo (sauteed shrimp, garlic, parsley, Spanish sherry, and red pepper flakes).
Ciro’s Speakeasy and Supper Club
If you’re looking for a night out with the girls or with your significant other, then you should really consider getting reservations at Ciro’s Speakeasy and Supper Club. Just like at a 20’s era speakeasy, you call ahead to get the password for the day and you present that at the wooden door to get inside. They go all out with the Speakeasy theme, serving up an extensive cocktail menu and hosting live jazz bands.
Edison: Food + Drink Lab
Edison is another unique, personality-filled restaurant in Tampa’s Hyde Park region. They promote creativity in the kitchen, and the head chef allows his staff to experiment with flavors, techniques, and ingredients daily to create some one-of-a-kind dishes. With star dishes like Charred Octopus Tiradito, Pork Belly Tacos, and Coconut Almond Gazpacho, you’re guaranteed to find something different and amazing at Edison.
With its diverse menu, 717 South is an excellent choice for any special occasion. You’ll want to get here early as the venue gets packed at night, and with limited parking in the back, you’ll want to call ahead and grab a table just before the rush begins. All the ingredients they use in their fare are fresh and local, which really helps elevate their food to the next level.
