Catch the pink sunset

Miami’s blue skies with fluffy cumulus clouds may look beautiful in the daytime, but sunsets are all the more glorious. The best place to see the sunset is from a rooftop bar or hotel. (The beach faces the east coast, so you won’t be able to catch it from the sands.) Visit Eurostars Langford’s rooftop lounge, Bloom Skybar, in Downtown Miami for some drinks and music to accompany your sky gazing. Also, South Florida is so close to the equator that the moon looks super-giant on full-moon nights.

Dine by the water

What’s more romantic than dining by the bay? Head to Crazy About You to enjoy a delicious dinner over candlelight and the sea’s gentle breeze. The waterfront restaurant sits along Biscayne Bay, complete with outdoor seating, a romantic atmosphere, impeccable service and views of Brickell’s glittering skyline.

Stroll along Key Biscayne

There’s no doubt that Key Biscayne, the barrier island perched parallel to Brickell, boasts one of the most striking views of Miami. Connected to the mainland by the Rickenbacker Causeway, the island offers sweeping panoramas of the sparkling water and is home to a golfing area, beaches and the city’s historic lighthouse dating back to 1825. For a lazy day in the sun, rent an umbrella and loungers to relax among the picturesque dunes at Crandon Park. Also, explore the lighthouse at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, or swim with dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium. For lunch, make a pit stop at the Rusty Pelican for a plate of fresh shrimp, oysters and other seafood favorites.

Picnic at Matheson Hammock Park

Drive along the oak-tree-lined Old Cutler Road for a visit to the scenic Matheson Hammock Park. It’s home to a man-made atoll pool with lovely views of Biscayne Bay and the city. Bring a blanket and set up your picnic underneath swathes of palm trees, or go kayaking and paddleboarding. There’s even a relaxing hiking and biking trail to enjoy for a peaceful moment with your partner.

Catch a flick at SoundScape Park

Depending on its schedule, SoundScape Park in Miami Beach offers free sit-in movie nights. The films are projected onto the wall of the adjacent New World Center, home of the New World Symphony, and there’s plenty of green space to roll out your blanket and relax while watching classics such as Casablanca (1942). Nothing’s more romantic than a movie under the stars.

Swim at a lavish hotel pool

You haven’t experienced the Miami lifestyle until you relax poolside at a fancy Miami Beach hotel. There are countless options with luxurious swimming facilities, including the popular Raleigh, W South Beach and Delano South Beach. However, we’ve decided to feature the Setai Miami Beach for its sexy Asian-style design and three magnificent pools, where you can enjoy the Miami heat with extravagant poolside service. Here’s to love!
