Find yourself all alone in the Magic City? No problem. The city is teeming with an array of bars for all crowds and ages. Whether you’re looking for a career-minded banker, a hipster intellectual, or neither of those stereotypes, we’ve rounded up the best bars to meet singles in Miami.

The Broken Shaker

Bar, Cocktail Bar, American

Most recently ranked as the best bar in America, we just had to add this favorite. Located within the Freehand Hotel in Miami Beach, The Broken Shaker is the place to go to meet fellow travelers. The outdoor bar is a tropical oasis decorated with lush vegetation and romantic garden lights that set the mood for an enjoyable evening. Chairs and loungers are spread out, some around the pool (which you can dip into, btw), and the bohemian atmosphere makes it easy to start a conversation with the fellow stranger sitting next to you. Cocktails are typically pricey (unless you come for happy hour), but they’re powerful and worth it!

The Anderson

Bar, Restaurant, Cocktails, American, Pub Grub

The Anderson is a retro spot to go for drinks even if a potential love interest is not on the cards that night. The live music is great – bands play covers from the ’80s, catchy enough to make you try your moves on the dance floor. The crowd is a mix from mid-twenty-somethings to middle-aged folks still cool to hang. They do need to stock more seats around the bar, but there’s plenty of seating outside on the romantic patio.

Area 31

Perched on the rooftop of the Epic Hotel, Area 31 is a swanky lounge with sweeping views of Miami’s glittering skyline. Located just at the border between Downtown and Brickell’s business district, the place is visited by business professionals looking to do some mingling and networking after work hours. But it’s not all strictly suits and heels, the place gets its share of young college kids, and foreigners who linger here by word of mouth.

The Corner

Bar, American

Tucked in a sketchy street in Downtown, only locals in-the-know go to this hole-in-the-wall, and that’s a good thing. The dive bar with dark wood interiors and candlelit tables is a cozy place for conversation with friends, and a low-key spot to faire connaissance (get to know) someone new. The crowd here varies: hipsters, intellectuals, nomads, and drag queens. The bar hosts live jazz here and there, and the bartenders are on point with their cocktail concoctions. Happy hour Monday-Friday until 8 p.m. includes discounts on wine, beer and bites including their delicious hotdog with chips. You can even sit outside, smoke, and order drinks from their handy window.

Blackbird Ordinary

On any night, Blackbird’s funky atmosphere sets the mood for a fun night of partying in Brickell. The cool lounge plays live music and hosts DJs with sounds ranging from rock bands from your high school years to danceable pop music. The place with an indoor and outdoor courtyard is a magnet for twenty-something singles looking for a fling and a good time. The cocktails are delicious, and free for ladies on Tuesday nights from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Plus, there’s never a cover fee – and when you’re good and drunk by night’s end, just slip over to La Moon next door for a plate of hot arepas to sober you up.
