Are you wondering when’s the best time to visit Orlando, Florida, and why? As one of the Sunshine State’s top tourism destinations, Orlando is an inviting place to visit every season of the year, as it offers a warm, subtropical climate that makes it particularly alluring during winter months to those seeking a break from the cold and snow. However, the best time to have the full Orlando tourism experience depends on whether you’re traveling to enjoy the weather, staying in hotels to visit friends and family, or to see Disney, Universal Studios®, SeaWorld®, and other world-famous attractions that call “The City Beautiful” home.

Come for the sunshine, not for the heat

The best time to visit Orlando, Florida, for the weather is during the winter months and through spring. While most of the country is dealing with the bitter cold, Orlando is usually warm and dry, with temperatures typically in the 40s or 50s (4–15°C) at night and up to the high 70s or low 80s (24–28°C) during the day. On the other hand, summer months can be brutal, with high temperatures and humidity levels you probably aren’t used to and an unpredictable rainy season that can bring severe thunderstorms. Also, hurricanes can pose a risk all the way through November.

Skip the crowds at Orlando tourist attractions

The best times to visit Disney and the other major theme parks in Orlando are also spring and autumn. The weather is generally temperate, and the attractions aren’t nearly as crowded. Winter is regularly the busiest season for the major attractions, though summers can be just as jam-packed. However, don’t let these tidbits prevent you from visiting one of the annual seasonal attractions at major theme parks, including Walt Disney World® Resort’s Epcot® International Flower & Garden Festival in spring or Universal Studios® Halloween Horror Nights® in the fall. Also, it’s always best to arrive at major theme parks early in the day, as they will stop admitting visitors once they reach capacity.
