Café Largo

When a restaurant’s chef is the culinary advisor for the Tampa Bay division of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the world’s oldest gastronomic organization, you know you’re in for an exquisite meal. Café Largo doesn’t disappoint. Headed by chef Dominique Christini’s, Café Largo’s classic French cuisine includes delightful hors d’oeuvres like vineyard snails with garlic, parsley and goat cheese in a pastry shell. There are also tempting entrées including prime veal tenderloin sautéed in a wild mushroom sauce. Indulgent desserts like soufflé au Grand Marnier are a perfect finish to an evening of fine French dining.

Savory Restaurant

Owned by the Lagoudakis family, who bring more than 40 years’ experience in the restaurant business to the table, Savory Restaurant is a much-loved spot. It serves a mix of Italian, Greek and American cuisine. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner six days a week, Savory Restaurant offers eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and plenty of omelets. Meanwhile a lunchtime fresh Greek salad is perfect for refueling after a stroll around neighboring Walsingham Park. Go for dinner and sit on Savory’s beautiful patio while dining on dishes like chicken souvlaki, New Orleans-style catfish or shrimp alfredo.

German Bistro 2

For hearty and authentic German cuisine in the heart of Largo, look no further than German Bistro 2 . This is a restaurant opened in 2012 by Irena Seidl, who moved to the area seven years ago from Munich. A homey, welcoming dining room beckons guests to team classic German plates like bratwurst, sauerbraten and gypsischnitzel (pan-fried pork schnitzel with a bell pepper, tomato and onion gravy) with sides. The sides include potato salad, dumplings, spaeztle and sauerkraut. Wash it down with one of the bistro’s German beers. Finish with a traditional dessert of apple strudel served with whipped cream.

Roosterfish Grill

Fast becoming one of Largo’s favorite restaurants, Roosterfish Grill specializes in seafood cooked up by head chef Sean Mullaney. Seafood fans will be spoilt for choice with the restaurant’s smorgasbord of fish dishes. Steamed Alaskan king crab legs, Caribbean jerk-seasoned mahi mahi with mango salsa and fresh Atlantic salmon with cucumber dill sauce are just a few shining examples. However, there are plenty of dishes for landlubbers, too, like baby back ribs, steak and burgers. As an added bonus, guests can sit out on Roosterfish Grill’s lakeside deck and feed the lake’s resident fish and turtles as they dine.

Mike’s Pizza & Pub

Combining classic Italian and American dishes with an extensive microbrew list, Mike’s Pizza & Pub is ideal for a fun, casual meet-up with friends. It is located in a trendy, industrial-chic space just a few minutes from the beautiful shores of Indian Rocks Beach. Mike’s is the perfect place to head after a day at the beach for classic pizzas, gourmet stromboli, and calzones served alongside wings, hearty hoagies, salads and skillet dinners. These are best washed down with a beer from a local brewery like Seminole’s Rapp Brewing Company or Tampa’s Florida Avenue Brewing.
