Although the days are getting shorter, and summer days are quickly fading into the rearview mirror, there’s still time to catch Denver’s scenery from some of the city’s best rooftops. Whether it’s sunset views or an upscale lounge you’re after, take advantage of the Mile High City’s 300 days of sunshine with these 11 best rooftop patios in Denver.

1. Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar

Restaurant, Seafood, American

Jax Fish House, a Denver favorite, is bringing its much loved maritime vibe to Glendale, with a fab rooftop patio boasting a stunning view of the mountains and lush tree tops. Head here during happy hour, offered every day from 4-6pm, for seafood-centric dishes like kimchi fish cake sliders and steamed mussels alongside discounted cocktails (hello, vodka strawberry lemonade); or opt for their ‘NOLA’ brunch on Sundays. Plus, this spot is serving up some of the freshest oysters in town; set alongside a cocktail, and the occasional live music, we couldn’t think of a better way to take in the Front Range mountain air.

2. Linger

Restaurant, Asian, Greek

Once an old mortuary, Linger is now a LoHi hot spot distinguished by its original Olinger’s mortuary sign hanging high above the rooftop patio and global-inspired eats like pork belly bao, bay scallop poke, and charred baby octopus salad. While the rooftop scenery has changed due to recent construction, Linger still stands out of the crowd as a Denver favorite with its flavor-packed menu, weekend brunch (served on the patio during summer), and vintage VW bus-turned-bar slinging craft cocktails under a star-studded sky on the terrace. Head here for a perfect post-work drink, with happy hour offered Monday through Friday until 6:30pm.

3. Izakaya Den

Restaurant, Japanese, Sushi, Asian, Vegetarian, Gluten-free, Vegan

Tucked along South Pearl Street next to sister restaurant Sushi Den, Izakaya Den has been a longtime go-to spot for sake and Japanese fare. With its remarkably modern design and décor (think second-floor bar with a retractable glass roof), it’s easy to forget that just outside lies a beautifully lit rooftop patio. Delve into dishes like sushi, noodles, and gastro pub-style small plates while gazing down at Pearl Street’s quaint neighborhood. Pro tip: there’s happy hour in the cocktail bars Tuesdays through Fridays.

5. Historians Ale House

Bar, Pub, Beer

Historians Ale House is a casual space for kicking back with a brew (or three) al fresco alongside local eats. There are over 40 beers on tap – 30 of which are brewed in Colorado – plus they feature a different brewery from across the country every month, so you’ll have plenty of beers to keep you busy. If you fancy a bite, head here for their weekday lunch special when you can grab a burger, fries, and a beer for $5.95; or opt for happy hour, offered during the week from 11am-7pm and late night (Sunday-Thursday).

6. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Cocktail Bar, Bar, Cocktails

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is Denver’s hidden gem; tucked behind Coors Field, Whiskey TF boasts an airy rooftop patio, big screen TVs, and over 90 whiskeys, making this spot perfect for a casual drink, game-watching, and scenic views. Plus, there are over 30 beers on tap, craft cocktails, and upscale comfort food like poblano chili relleno, glazed sprouts, and goat cheese-stuffed dates, accompanied by a bluesy playlist. Head here on the weekends when you can catch a boozy brunch on the patio.

Bar, Cocktails

Head to the ART Hotel for an upscale, fourth-floor rooftop boasting views of the Museum District and Denver’s city lights. Nestled just above Broadway Street, the FIRE Terrace is serving up craft cocktails alongside a menu of tasty bites on an open-air patio; and if that isn’t enough to entice you, there are lounges fit with comfy seating and a fire pit, perfect for those chillier nights. Keep in mind that these semi-private hot spots go quick, so get here early if you want to snag one – especially during ‘social hour’ from 3-6pm.

8. Los Chingones

Restaurant, Mexican

Los Chingones, 2461 Larimer St #102, Denver, CO, USA, +1 303 295 0686 Los Chingones has made a name for itself as one of the best rooftops in the city. While the view isn’t anything to write home about, the perfectly crafted margaritas accompanied by that Colorado fresh air makes this vibrant rooftop patio unforgettable. Plus, Los Chingones steps outside the norm with modern Mexican dishes like lamb neck tacos, tres pig nachos, and guac with rattlesnake chorizo, distinguishing itself as one of the most innovative spots in the RiNo. There are plenty of traditional dishes, like pastor and chicken, too, but Chef Troy Guard is always keeping things fresh and unique.

9. Avanti F&B

Restaurant, Mexican, American, Spanish, Asian, Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-free

Avanti F&B is more than just a food and beverage hall – this eclectic eatery is housed in a double-level shipping container, with a rooftop bar boasting stunning views of downtown and the mountains. Inspired by European eateries, Avanti F&B features the likes of seven different restaurants, from arepas to sushi, alongside 20 draft beers, cocktails, and plenty of vino. There’s even another bar downstairs, lounge, and dining area.

10. ViewHouse Eatery, Bar & Rooftop

Restaurant, American, Vegan
