Walking into this large venue, it is clear that the word ‘duck’ is so much more than an animal that the owners wanted to slap on their bar. With ducks hidden around every corner, almost everything that is served at The Duck Inn, minus the alcohol, is cooked in duck fat, or duck meat is used to make things like turkey wings. To accompany the delicious food that is offered, their full bar is great for people to get their usual cocktail or to try something new. This is a great place for Bridgeport natives and tourists alike, and the servers make the experience as cool and fun as it can possibly be.

Maria’s is hidden in plain sight on 31st Street. In the front is a small liquor store, and in the back, there is a bar and five tables for friends to sit at while sipping on a beer. While this bar is tiny, it has been Bridgeport’s gem over the years. With a gigantic selection of beer and ales, it is no wonder that this bar is a community favorite. When walking in, patrons have no idea what will be in store. However, there is nothing more satisfying and hilarious than ordering a random $2 ‘Crappy Beer’ for the night, a deal that sees the bartender choose a beer at random for you.

From the outside, it looks like a dark building with no one inside. However, when you walk in, the colorful interior and super friendly staff make you feel as if you’ve walked into a party, every time. Bernice’s Tavern is a go-to bar for young adults and Bridgeport natives alike. Along with the great prices, they have Bingo nights, live music, and open-mic nights for everyone wanting to perform.

Turtle’s Bar And Grill

Bar, Beer

On a clear summer day, this hidden tavern is covered by the two trees in front of the building. It’s only identifiable as a bar due to the Miller Lite painting on the side of the building. While it is mostly popular in the summer, Turtle’s Bar and Grill’s interior, staff and regulars make this hot spot exciting and worthwhile to go to all year-round. After ordering your cocktail and bar snacks, lean back and take in the environment you walked into. Along with being in Bridgeport, it is super close to U.S. Cellular Field, allowing you and your party to have fun before and after a big win.
