“Play with purpose” is the motto of Play Haven, an indoor play center created by a preschool teacher of 12 years that houses more than 4000 square feet of space. Here in the heart of San Francisco, you’ll find activities like a rock climbing wall and an art studio, and all intended to promote essential early childhood skills such as social interaction, emotional development, and motor coordination. Perks for adults include free parking and free Wi-Fi in the parent lounge, as well as a room set aside for nursing mothers.

Stow Lake Boathouse, located in the middle of San Francisco’s beautiful Golden Gate Park, offers year round boat rentals starting at $20 per hour. Children are welcome as long as they are accompanied at all times by an adult, and there are boats that can accommodate up to six people. From rowboats and pedal boats to electric and motorboats, there’s something here for every kind of boater. Safety is paramount at Stow Lake, and all the boats are reportedly non-tipping, self-bailing, and unsinkable, allowing you to glide serenely across the water without fear.

Mission Dolores Park
