One of the oldest Indian food restaurants in Mountain View is also one of the best. Amber India is widely considered the premier place for authentic Indian food. Over 30 years ago, Chez TJ opened and since then, the contemporary French restaurant has gone on to earn a coveted Michelin star. Chez TJ offers two dining options, an eight-course pre-fix and a four-course pre-fix meal that changes daily based on the availability of local produce. Ingredients are sourced primarily from the restaurant’s own garden and local markets; the seafood is flown in from Japan; and all the meat comes from pasture-raised animals.

6. Red Rock Coffee Company

When in need of a caffeine-fix look no farther than the Red Rock Coffee Company. Located in downtown Mountain View, this corner café is much more than the average coffee shop. The two-story building was built in 1906 and hosts open-mic nights and concerts. The motto here is ‘caffeine, culture, and community’ and the café hosts everyone from local knitters to language conversation groups.

7. Agave Mexican Restaurant

The Jurian Building was completed in 1913 and was orginally home to the E.T. Johnson Drug Store and a social hall. Today, the ground floor of the building hosts the Agave Mexican Bistro. The restaurant features family recipes that are infused with California flavours to provide health-conscious and delicious Mexican cuisine.
